Titus Bakery Ltd Bakery • $
15 Prince Edward St, Saint John

“I've been going to this bakery for nearly 40 years (and I am only 48) - growing up this was my parents favorite bakery and it is still the best in Saint John! The sisters that own the bakery are lovely, and they make the most wonderful bread, rolls, cookies, squares, gingerbread men, Danishes and more (If you can get the corn chowder - TRY IT! It's amazing). Wonderful service - I forgot a loaf of bread I bought this AM (distracted by the sweets) and got home before I realized. I called and asked them if possible to donate it next door to the HOPE Café (Salvation Army free café for those in need) and she said sure she would bring it on over for me :-) Love this community staple!“

Port City Pastry Bakery • $$

“I cannot recommend Port City Pastry enough. 5 days before my Daughter's birthday she decided on a bakery cake. I was very skeptical that I could get any bakery to take this on with such short notice but I started searching. I was ready to drive 2 hours out of my way to make it happen. Each bakery indicated at least 4 weeks notice. But then I found Port City Pastry and the amazing Chef behind the scenes, Neil Hughes. Even though Neil was just getting caught up on orders after being away for a week, he said he would be happy to get this done for us. Not only that but offered to meet me for cake pick up on a day that he wasnt even open! The cake tasted as amazing as it looked. Red velvet cake is not an easy cake to make, and quite frankly I have not liked any red velvet cakes from any bakery before. Neil...Neil knows how to make a Red Velvet cake. The right shade of red. The right ratio of cocoa and brown/red sugar. So many use food coloring and you can taste it. True red velvet does not use food coloring. This cake was decadent. I don't eat many sweets and I think my family was surprised that I tried a piece. But it was so worth it. Thank you Neil! We look forward to trying more of your baking magic in the future!“

Tim Hortons Food • $

“This Tim Hortons is my favorite. They make the best donuts and Tim bits and the baker at this particular location is the best in St. John. She is the only one who can make a proper birthday cake timbit. Also extremely friendly and that takes a lot because you know normally I'm going in there at 5 o'clock in the morning before work so you know you want to leave there feeling good and they do they do a good job of that so I recommend this Tim Hortons overall the other Tim Hortons in St. John, now it's not being said the best person that makes coffee or tea and so does it the old-fashioned way she actually stirs and that's the north end Saint John, Tim Hortons dayshift no one makes a better coffee or tea in this person“
