“Venturing into 12 Bones Smokehouse SOUTH for dinner after a brisk day at ArborFest turned out to be a promising decision, made upon the recommendation of a friend. Arriving around 6 PM, we were greeted by the early signs of the evening rush, signaling the popularity of this local haunt. The restaurant operates straightforwardly, where patrons place their orders at the register before taking a seat. This system contributes to the casual, down-to-earth atmosphere that welcomed us.Eager for a substantial meal, I opted for the full rack of ribs, seasoned simply with salt and pepper, expecting a feast to satiate my hunger. We found ourselves seated, and it was only a short time before our meals arrived. My friends found much to enjoy in their dinners. As for myself, the generous portion of ribs proved a challenge to conquer; I managed about half, acknowledging my ambitious order. While the ribs boasted a good flavor, they leaned towards the dry and overcooked side for my taste. I've always preferred juicier ribs, and though these were satisfactory in taste, they only partially met my expectations in texture.Despite my preference for the ribs, the overall experience at 12 Bones Smokehouse SOUTH was positive. Everyone at the table was satisfied with their meals and the accompanying sides, contributing to a pleasant end to our day. The ambiance, friendly staff, and quick service made our dinner a cozy respite from the cold. For those in the area, especially after a day full of activities, 12 Bones Smokehouse SOUTH offers a hearty dining option. While my rib experience was a slightly off-mark from my juicier preferences, the overall quality of the food and the warm, welcoming environment make it a place worth visiting.“

“Why haven’t I been here before?! Omg! So good! I got the poke bowl (a delicious combination of tuna, cucumbers and tomatoes in sauce) and hubby got the fried chicken sandwich….I think it is our new favorite chicken sandwich in Asheville. The honey sauce the used! Yum! Coming back. Great outdoor dining and all the food is great!“

“All I can say is Yum Yum give me some. This place is awesome. One of the best barbecue places around. We know the owners and they are great. They are great to veterans, law enforcement, ems, and firefighters. You cannot go wrong and the price is spot on. Keep doing what you do because it's incredible.“

“Tiger Bay Cafe and Battle Cat Coffee Bar are located in the same building but SEPARATE businesses / counters inside. Be aware so you that you wait in the correct line. Once you get past that confusion and find the counter in the back, the menu is small but appetizing. Not many substitutions but that is fine. Wait was about 20 mins for two sandwiches, but my wife and I both found them tasty and worth the wait!Good meal and glad we stopped in.“

“The pulled pork combo is pretty good. Glad the pulled pork isn't chopped up like every other place seems to do for some reason. The mac & cheese was on the greasy tasteless side. Potato salad was on the overcooked side bordering on the mashed potato side. The cornbread was the best part of the meal and I normally don't like cornbread. It was moist, hot, and flavorful. It's odd how more and more places are adopting what is called a "combo," but the drink always seems to not be part of the "combo." The meal was filling, but the price was a little on the high side ($13.50 + drink cost, tax, and tip) considering the amount of pulled pork. Fix the massive hole in the parking lot!“

“For those who love tasting menus that are a little bit unconventional, this is the spot for you. My wife and I came here on a trip to Asheville in March and had the best meal. They had a fairly large drink menu - of course with a ton of beers because Asheville - but there were a lot of really fun cocktail options. Both seasonal and regular. One cocktail I got was the Tsukemono (Lunazul Blanco Tequila, gentian liqueur, lemon, house yuzu pickle brine + Scrappy's Firewater Tincture) and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. We both went with the more expensive tasting menu and got WAYYY too much food. It was all delicious but some standouts were: -Sea bass on a stick (top 5 fish dish i've ever eaten, so meaty) -Pork and shitake mushroom gyoza -Tuna sashimi -Duck hot pot It was awesome and we would definitely go back next time we're in the area!“

“I've been told about this place by many locals and I have to say... They were not wrong about the quality of product being presented, I had lunch with my food rep and he mentioned that this was his favorite kind of barbeque as well. (Texas/Kansas mix I believe) I had some burnt ends too which I somehow didn't get a picture of apparently, the customer service was as great as it gets, they were very knowledgeable and had a strong sense of pride backing their work/product. I will definitely be back! I'll review the brewery Attached later on, the brew-flight I had after my meal was phenomenal.“

“I wish we had a restaurant like this in California. The outside looked like an empty rundown building with old animal statues on the roof. Boy was I wrong, it was the ambience of this place that struck me. When we walked in we found a long line of guests waiting to order their food. The highest price was $10 for a combo dinner that included a 1/2 barbecue chicken, two sides, hush puppies or Texas toast, a drink, and taxes, $10 total! The next day we did take out without the drink, Pulled pork, the two sides, three hush puppies, or toast, $8.50. I could barely finish the meals. They were tasty.“

“Great lunch at Black Bear BBQ, a great bbq place tucked back in the corner of the shopping center near Hamrick’s. We had the pulled pork sandwich, slaw, mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole, everything was very good. Quick service and great bbq!“

“Hit this joint on the way out of the airport, and was pleased. Got the pulled pork platter, okra, and mac and cheese, and the hush puppies were phenomenal. I really like what they've done with the sauces - good variety, not overly hot, and all good taste. Banana pudding was good, not great, but I do have a high standard when it comes to that...Would definitely come back.“

“Damn this place was amazing! Everything was delicious, sides, main meats, everything! The bacon wrapped meatballs were the star of the show along with the smoked turkey breast. Ambiance was nice, we sat outside and the live music wasn't too loud. Service was fast and there wasn't a line at the time. We went back on our last day in Asheville to get a dozen meatballs to-go!“

“The great oysters and seafood are amazing! Try the North Carolina oysters! They are the best. And the menu is very sensitive to food/diet restrictions. I have Celiacs but have FRIED Oysters every visit! The burgers are also amazing! LOVE Little Pearl!“

“I will say usually the service is excellent, and it wasn't until we paid the check that we never saw our server again. We were there for 4 hours, but we left a healthy tip. I don't usually hang out that long, but I was there with a friend I hadn't seen in 30 years. I would have loved to have had a refill on the drink. You can't beat Long Horn when it comes to steak, in my opinion.“

“Fascinating place with great food. Eclectic atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating. We enjoyed the graffiti. Food was great. You will have to line up and place your order at the counter as you enter. It didn't take long and they brought our food out to our table. Plenty of beer options.“

“We stopped here while on a Carolina Waterfall Tour. Even though it’s right on the side of the road the setting is lovely. The porch has about 10/12 rocking chairs and there are some picnic tables with umbrellas. The ice cream was good but they were out of two flavors. And enjoyable stop.“

“Superb customer service I've ever gotten the entire year. I was really shocked how outstanding the service was, today was my son's birthday. Ronlando, the manager, and his staff demonstrated efficiency, leadership, dedication, and communication. Their warm hospitality is the reason I go out to eat; they were so polite when they seated and welcomed us, making everyone feel completely at home.He assisted my disabled sister with her seat, then followed up to make sure everything was alright.Whenever I had any concerns or questions , I valued being acknowledged and taken seriously. The food was great and really fresh. They then came out and began singing "Happy Birthday to my son in the end." I had a great experience , and I will be returning soon.“

“I’ll give a generous 4 stars. The atmosphere was great, the waitress was amazing. The food was ehh. I ordered the 20oz ribeye med rare and it came out absolutely blue lol. I’m not disappointed necessarily because I’d rather it be under cooked than over cooked (personal opinion). With that said, a steak place should know how to cook every single steak properly. Therefore one star lost lol.“

“I visited Big J's for the first time the other day from an associate referral. I consider myself a food critic and I can say if you are a Fried Chicken lover they serve some of the "Best" fried chicken I have ever eaten. Better than "All" the "Big Chain" Chicken restaurants. My food was served Hot and Fresh. The service was welcoming and friendly it felt like home. The macaroni and cheese, plus potato salad I ordered for my sides were cooked and mixed to perfection. Most importantly the prices were affordable and reasonable.I assured them they had secured another customer and that I would definitely return.“
