There’s gonna be a line because the food is fantastic. It’s worth the wait and doesn’t take that long. Good beer selection as well.

Fascinating place with great food. Eclectic atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating. We enjoyed the graffiti. Food was great. You will have to line up and place your order at the counter as you enter. It didn't take long and they brought our food out to our table. Plenty of beer options.

Visited 12 Bones as part of a work function, I opted for a half rack of ribs, with the brown sugar traditional dry rub, they were very flavorful and sticky from the brown sugar, additionally they had serve your own sauces including a lovely ketchup based bbq sauce that paired nicely with the dry rub. For sides, the options weren't the best for me admittedly, while I love Mac and Cheese which was why I got 2x of them, I do wish there was a more traditional choice for mashed potatoes as sweet potatoes have never been my thing (you can thank the NC school lunches for that.). Admittedly the corn pudding did look good as one of my coworkers got them. Drink choices were RC Cola brand which means Cheerwine all day every day.As a side note, the interior walls are covered in drawings, quotes, and scribbles from folks throughout the years, while I didn't snap a picture of some of the more impressive drawings, I did get one of Hatsune Miku.

This was a neat place - the line took a while, but the food came out incredibly fast and it was easy to find a seat. The different sauces were fun and the food was all really good.

This restaurant was recommended to us while visiting the art district in Asheville. Someone said it was "the best BBQ in Asheville." That sounded enticing for us to want to try it.The first problem I found is that the menu was rather limiting if you wanted to sample several things at once. For instance, I wanted to try chicken and ribs. However, they don't sell a combo with both which is very odd.The most moderately priced item on the menu is the rib sandwich, which quite frankly, was mediocre. Not a lot of ribs on the sandwich and it tasted just average.I am from New Jersey and we have better BBQ places than this with a larger menu and the opportunity to pair more different meat items together.Another problem was that there was no table service. You need to stand on a line, which often is quite long, to place your order. Once the order was placed we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for someone to bring it out to us. You can order a fountain drink and it seems refills are free, which is one of the better aspects I found of this restaurant.Overall, the meal was good, but the menu seemed limited with little chance to pair different meats together. The sides were decent but not memorable. Can't say this was nearly the best BBQ that I have ever had.

BBQ Pork tasted overcooked and dry. Not fresh or good at all. Sides were not hot. Some of the worst BBQ I have had. Cannot recommend.

We like this place! Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and they have a nice selection of beer. The patio is also super nice and we love how dog friendly they are! Dogs are even allowed in their taproom, just not the main restaurant. My one complaint is the food here can be a little dry. My go to are the ribs, and I’m usually reallyyy glad they’re sauced. They have good flavor, but they’re just kind of tough.

The food is decent, but I expect better. I've made better ribs myself without a smoker, so I was hoping this would be even better but it was barely okay. I'm going to try out a few other places in Asheville while I'm here for comparison, but I saw the brisket on this place and it looks pretty bad. It definitely shouldn't be that dry. The cornbread also wasn't great

Everything was greasy! I ordered a wedge salad, big mound of greasy onion rings made the lettuce greasy. Cukes were soggy, potato salad was awful, all four of us agreed, NEVER AGAIN!

Lunch midweek for 2. A queue of only 5 or so people in front of us. Ordered some tasty beers from their brewery and the bbq food was enjoyable but nothing exceptional. Reasonable pricing. Low key, and great 'sauce bar'.

In 2021 I drove coast to coast and back and found this place on the way. This place ruined turkey for me in all the best ways. It was so damn good in 2021 I haven't even thought about eating turkey for years now, until today, when I knew I would be going through Asheville on another road trip. This place is special, magical, a true gem and one of a kind. It is well worth going way way out of your way if you're roadtripping!

Collard greens were fabulous! Mac and cheese were bottom of the line. Brisket was ok. Ribs were cooked to death. I told the hostess to throw it in the trash instead of serving it. It's a shame because it's in a great neighborhood.
