Very tasty steak. And very attentive waitress. Not a lot of energy, but it was a Wednesday night in April.

On our last night in Ashville we dined at PROPER. We loved it. Everything was delicious. This small restaurant is definitely run by a good chef at the helm of the kitchen. Flavor First! It was one of the best dinner experiences in Ashville.Bone Marrow was fire. Steak was also on point. Scallops where perfect.Highly recommend.

Could not have been happier with our choice of Asheville Proper for dinner! Based on conversation with our outstanding server, Zoe, our drink and dinner choices were amazing. The bone marrow and dry aged ribeye were cooked to perfection. Finished dinner with delicious cheesecake. Cannot say enough good things about Zoe and Asheville Proper!

Bartender is rude, as soon as my husband ordered a water to start while we look over the menu she walks off. We left. Seemed over hyped anyway. Tons more options to choose from.

The atmosphere was homey and the service at first was wonderful. A cocktail was not what we wanted and was remade with no problems. Sadly when our steaks came out majority of them were not warm or cooked correctly. Again service was very understanding and worked with us to correct.Desert took a disappointing turn. When asked if we would like to order, our server said “Would you like any desert, there is plenty of time this evening to walk it off”…… not the thing to say to a group of women, let alone a group of anyone. Sadly it was repeated, gaining the same amount of cringes as the first time it was said. The implication that we would “walk it off” if we were to order desert, feeds into a toxic diet culture that this restaurant should not be promoting. This was followed but him promoting a round of tequila shots. To which we declined.Once again the service was receptive to our feedback, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food tasty, but sadly I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We had a beautiful dinner at AP a few nights ago. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant is very stylish and romantic. My only regret was not saving room for dessert.

This restaurant is a MUST TRY. My boyfriend rarely gives praise to restaurants we try and this place is now in his top 3! Service was a bit slow but the food was completely worth it. We tried the squid steak appetizer which was tender and flavorful. The homemade sweet & sour sauce was amazing. We tried the duck breast, scallops, and smashed potatoes for our entrees and everything was divine! These were without a doubt the best scallops I've ever tried. The gravy on the potatoes was sooo rich and delicious. We also tried the miso cheesecake to-go and that was also just as tasty as the other dishes. On top of having amazing food the actual restaurant is so cozy and surprisingly casual for the fine dining food you get. We had a table that faced the kitchen and the head chef was literally cooking over an open fire which was so cool to watch. I cannot wait for my next trip so I can eat here again!

The Bar service and food are outstanding. The grilled romaine salad, fennel cream soup, confit smashed potatoes, and a small plate of meatballs were enough to satisfy our appetite, as well as ensure this is a definite stop when we're in Asheville. Thank you Zoe for a wonderful experience.

We had a big group here for a bachelor party and everything was great. Killer steaks from Wagyu to ribeye. Each steak was cooked to perfection. Get the bone marrow small plate! Shout-out to the bartender for a killer amaretto sour. Lots of non alcoholic options for cocktails, beers, and even wine.

Wonderful experience at Asheville Proper! Food was delicious, would recommend fennel soup, grilled Caesar was fantastic, steaks, scallops, the mushrooms were excellent as well! Terrific service by Brady and well timed, not rushed but we didn't have to wait too long either. Perfect all the way around and will definitely be back. Wouldn't change a thing!

Our server Tess was great! Gave great recommendations and the food was phenomenal. Our favorites were the wagyu zabuton and the fennel bisque. We will definitely be back whenever we're back in town!

As in the past, we again enjoyed our meal tremendously. Each dish was delightful. Not a drop left on the plate. Amanda was a wonderful server/host. Thank you for the delicious and interesting food.

The duck had very little meat most of it was fat. The tenderloin was very tough with no flavor. The caramelized onions were tough and burnt. Our server spent more time behind the bar speaking to bar patrons and a large table than coming to our table of two to check on us. Zero service recovery. Very very disappointing especially for the money that was spent.
