Puts the Buxton name to shame. Overpriced ok fine it’s downtown but to be served a 1/2 cold chicken sandwich and luke warm waffle fries was a huge disappointment. Unable to eat it. Ended up going somewhere else after already spending $20 on this. If you’ve heard good things about Buxton I assure you this experience pales in comparison to what Buxton was. You’d be better off going to cookout than this location.

Ok, brutally honest review. We went to Burton Hall for a decade.I went here expecting the chicken sandwich of my dreams. What I got was a slightly soggy chicken sando with an aged bun. I had the impression I’d get waffle fries. I got curly fries. I wanted waffle fries. The bourbon slush was very lacking in the bourbon and didn’t taste like the OG. Idk I really had high hopes. It was actually super disheartening. Idk if the groups other restaurants are getting the focus or what, but it really actually made me a little sad.As a local, my experience overall at the cafeteria was was, well, overwhelmingly overwhelming. Kids screaming everywhere and it was packed. There are MUCH better options for the money.Hillman chicken sando, burial south slope sando, black mountains loot house, and Regina’s. Skip the tourist packed place and stick with the others. It just wasn’t up to par for the hype at all. Sad times.

If you eat this chicken make sure to have an American flag waving. This is chicken. Fried chicken soooooo good you will start clucking.Eat here. Grab a beer from highlands above and be cool like us locals.Or go to a fast food spot and be lame…

I can’t recommend this place enough!! I hosted an event and used Buxton as my caterer and their food is AMAZING! And their service is AMAZING! Every one of my guests loved the food, including myself. Truly exceeded my expectations!

Super cool location. Service took forever and it was not busy at all. Chicken was super juicy and crunchy, fries were good, but the bun was lackluster and the cheese wasn’t melted.

Not worth it. Mediocre chicken sandwich that costs delicious sandwich prices. Fries and sauces were really good, but those shouldn't be the main food items for a chicken sandwich place.

Wow! I’m not a burger/sandwich person, but these folks changed my mind. I’m not even capping ❤️?? I had the N’Asheville and Fries. However, keep in mind these are not combos. Everything on the menu comes separately. And as first time visitors, we were treated really well, and folks were nice/welcoming. Loved it!And by the way, chicken is seasoned. So your palate won’t regret it.

Cool old building with Hillman Brewery upstairs. The chicken sandwiches were ok. View of downtown Asheville was excellent.

We came to the S&W Market and was happy to see the choices that were available. I chose the Buxton Chicken Palace to grab a quick meal at and was not disappointed. I got the Buxton Original Chicken Sandwich without dill pickles and a side of The Fries. I got a water cup, which was a cup filled with ice that I could refill at the water station near the bathrooms, which I was fine with. The person working got my order in quick, and my food was given to me in minutes. The food itself was delicious! The sandwich was thick, juicy, and tender, as a fried chicken sandwich should be. The fries were also good and seasoned well. I honestly found it to be a lot of food and shared it with my family. I really liked my experience here. I definitely want to try more in the S&W Market!

I waited at the front for 5 minutes before anyone noticed me and came up to take my order. The food was amazing, and they have a prime location in the food hall, but I wish they were a little more attentive.

Pretty legit amount of chicken tenders for it to go Meal. Counter service and the person waiting on me was very nice and helpful. Pretty sure she gave me an extra sauce for free. They came out super super quick and fresh and hot. They're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Nothing super mind blowing about them but a solid choice nonetheless. I like that this is in the S&W cafeteria and super accessible to downtown. Also feels like one of the more affordable places these days

I don't eat a lot of chicken, but their fried chicken sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. I especially love their pimento cheese spread on it!
