We really enjoyed the delicious choices of food. Tasty and well plated. Service was first class. The dining area is charming and slightly old world. Don't miss it!

Chestnut has a nice laid back atmosphere and the food was excellent. The wait staff was pleasant and there was no stuffiness. The filet I had may have been one of the best ones I've ever had. The cook temp was perfect and the piece of meat itself was very high quality. I would definitely go again next time I'm in Asheville.

I am always nervous taking my large family out to dine when I know, that coming from a restaurant family, they aren't the easiest to please. This was not a problem whatsoever during our beautiful experience at Chestnut. As soon as you walk in off the street of downtown, you are transported into a chic urban decorated dining space with a cool and cozy vibe. Our server Woody was extremely knowledgeable and a true professional. Their play on a pumpernickel black Manhatten was out of this world and super unique. I enjoyed watching my family enjoy their artfully constructed plates so much that everyone was insistent on sharing their meal with everyone else. What a great experience. We started with the fresh homemade pappadelle with a bright and garlicky pesto cream sauce, fried green tomatoes with a decadent bacon jam, and the perfectly lightly battered and fried calamari and kale salad. Entrees included the soft shell crab over a broccoli rabe fritter, duck Marsala, the tile fish special, shrimp and grits, and the petit filet. I watched as my family were taking smaller and smaller bites as the meal went on to savor the dish. Portions and presentation spot on, and very reasonably priced. Bravo to the Chestnut team.

The bartender was our server for brunch. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, provided great recommendations and was very kind. We ordered several small plates for brunch. Everything was delicious! Must visit when in Asheville. We will be back!

Consistently the best restaurant in Asheville. The only thing disappointing about my meal today is that I was unable to also fit lobster bisque into my belly. It's my favorite. We have gone to Chestnut over the last several years, and have sampled a variety of dinner and brunch items. If you visit in the spring look for ramps on the menu. Such a delightful treat! My falafel wrap came with a Greek salad, but my husband wanted to try the Mac and cheese so I subbed the greens for yummy carbs. They also gave me a free dessert for my birthday. A must visit for your weekend in Asheville!!!

Shrimp & Grits was excellent. Great flavor, plating was superb ?, sauce added depth to a popular dish. The truffle fries are something you just need to try.

My first visit to Chestnut definitely won't be my last. Everything was top-notch, from the service by Sam to the carefully created and prepared dishes. The Tuna Tataki was outstanding as was the market catch Cobia. There were so many appealing choices, it was hard to decide. I look forward to trying them all!!
