Nice environment. Kitchen was terribly slow. We split an app and a po boy and were there for two hours. But, our server, Christian, was wonderful.

It's always a great place to get fresh oysters. We started our meal with a few cocktails, and appetizers, all very good. Bouillabaisse was very delicious, get extra bread. We will return.

A great place for local seafood. The oysters are fresh, the clam strips are tender, and the fish and chips are crispy and moist. The only issue is the food is heavily salted. Eclectic music plays while you enjoy your meal.

At Jettie Rae's Oyster House in Asheville, folks, I embarked on a seafood escapade that rocked my taste buds to the core! Picture this: Mussels so sublime, they practically waltzed onto my palate, and the branzino – oh, that branzino – a flavor fiesta that had me questioning if I'd stumbled upon seafood nirvana! ?? And let me tell you, if you're thinking of hitting this place, make reservations because it's a flavor party that gets packed faster than you can say "delicious!" Lol Massive shoutout to the stellar service and a staff so friendly, they're practically your seafood soulmates! ???

We've been dining here since they opened and it's on of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, this past visit was a let down. We ordered a couple of our usual dishes, including 2 fish fries which we get every time we come. The portion was significantly smaller, almost shockingly small, we wondered if perhaps they had split one entree onto two plates by mistake. That was not the case, at $26 for the entree, the price is steep, worth it if it delivers in portion size and deliciousness but again , it absolutely did not. The two entrees took nearly 30 min to come out after we finished salads, small portion, high price, over salted. We hope this was a one time oops. If we go back we'll stick with oysters and a beer and eat dinner elsewhere.

Four or us had dinner at Jettie Rae's Oyster House early on a Saturday, it was not our first visit, but it was the first time that we sat inside. The outside dining feels very casual, inside feels more 'dressed up'.Service was outstanding, atmosphere was great, bread was great, music was very good, drinks were very good, oysters were very good, the acoustics were poor (very loud and cacophonous especially near the bar). The food was disappointing. Bouillabaisse was so salty as to be inedible, kale salad was adequate as a side, but did not have enough interest to hold the stage as a main, turnips were similarly un-engaging. My dish, the ceviche was perhaps the most underwhelming of my life, tho it was edible. (Last month we ordered ceviche 7 times, in 7 places in S. America, and all of them were twice as good and 1/2 the price).WOW!Mixed bag huh? What to do?Best advice: tread carefully with the cooked foods and trust in the staff to see you through the hard times; they are excellent. The beautiful & confident manager swept by our table towards the end of the evening and asked, "Was everything fabulous?!" But her smile was so toothy and her posture so transient, that the chasm between this postulate and the reality seem far too great to (redirect and then) traverse. So we simply smiled and said, ‘yes’."Could anything have been better" would have yielded a wholly different response.

Amazing meal. The raw oysters were a great appetizer. The Bouillabaisse was absolutely the best I have ever had. The broth and the cook on the seafood was unreal. Highly recommend with the bread service and white wine !

The service was excellent along with dinner as well as the appetizers. The atmosphere was much more appealing than the outside appearance. That said, you just never know from looking on the outside. A good friend told us that Jettie Rae’s was his favorite restaurant in Asheville and I can see why. My wife and I were thoroughly pleased.

So, 3 of us went here, and it was disappointing. The service was great, But the first problem was that the reservation was for the patio area, and we were told it was heated. It was FREEZING . I mean that. My friend was shivering. Even my grown son said he shivered a few times. They said it would warm up. Well, it didn't. So we ate while we froze. And everyone was cold. I saw people put their coats under them because the chairs were like ice or just put their coats back on. If you are going to say heated patio, it needs to be heated MUCH better than that. Especially when at least half your seating is outside. Next was the food. While there were good things such as the crab cakes, the salad was pitiful for 12 to 14 dollars. It was green salad with a few slices of apples on it. That is it. We all rated it a 3 out of 10. The fries were good, but were 14 dollars for fries with some shaved cheese over them and mayo basically for dipping. Then dessert. My son said the apple dessert with butter pecan was great, and the chocolate tort I had was good until I found a short white hair in it. I was going to show the waitress, but at that point, I was froze, disappointed, and I laid the white hair down and then couldn't find it as the wind was blowing in from the corner we were in on their "HEATED PATIO". Drinks are bottled, and there are no refills as well. I have eaten so many places and a lot of nice places, this one was just not it for me. Maybe some would like it, but I do not and absolutely will not be back.
