I enjoyed the burnt ends Mac and cheese bowl. Ordering was not clear as signs were posted for a mobile app which did not work in my iPhone. Then someone appeared at the bar to order.

I have a standard when it comes to good BBQ. This location was ok for the non knowing person or for virgin eaters. The brisket was terribly overcooked and tough. Flavor was slightly there so a little short on seasoning and I could barely taste the smoke flavor. The sides lacked in seasoning as well. The okra was box kit at best and the hush puppies were jiffy mix lmao! The brisket was so overly cooked I chewed forever on a single bite. It was not tender nor was it juicy. Sad! No way they can charge as much as they do for the train wreck I just ate!

Ordered with DoorDash. Sliced brisket was great. Collards were good. Nothing was leaking and we got all of the item and the sauces that I asked for.

From the time we walked in, service was great. Food came out promptly and was really good. I do not eat pork, so I loved that there was a pulled chicken option.

Food and service have always been great 99% of the times we've been here. The owner was there on our most recent visit and seemed to really take a liking to my girlfriend. He only approached us when we walked in and stood uncomfortably close to BS some customer service to us. Later after we finished eating I got up to go use the bathroom and this guy waited until I left the table to go creep on her some more. It's super uncomfortable when male service workers only offer over the top service to one person in this way. I'll honestly still probably go back but watch for him, he's a weirdo and if you're a woman you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

Hit this joint on the way out of the airport, and was pleased. Got the pulled pork platter, okra, and mac and cheese, and the hush puppies were phenomenal. I really like what they've done with the sauces - good variety, not overly hot, and all good taste. Banana pudding was good, not great, but I do have a high standard when it comes to that...Would definitely come back.
Dietary restrictions: Had some GF options for daughter, three of us dining there during travels through the area.. great service and we all enjoyed our food..except one person ordered sliced brisket & it was rather dry.. overall experience was very good!

We had been to a different location in the past that was impressive. Unfortunately this location was a bit of a letdown. The food came out cold and the chicken fatty. At least the hush puppies were good. The prices were to be expected for this area. We will definitely not be back to this location.

This was our first visit to Luella's, but it will certainly not be our last. We made the trip to Asheville to visit REI and decided to give Luella's a try since it was close by, and it turned out to be a great choice. The food was great and the service was excellent. It was a 5 star visit in every way.
Stopped in for lunch with daughter on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Service was great and the BBQ, as always, perfect. Daughter's go to choice for BBQ. She had the kids pulled chicken with Okra and Hush Puppies. I had the chile rubbed brisket sandwich. Both meals were just right - portion, prep and taste. Will be back.
