Best chai latte I have ever had!! We stopped in for a snack and had the onion kulcha, papadum and butternut squash soup. All were terrific! We will be back!

Some of the best chicken we have had and insane curry sauce. Vegan options available too. Staff are readily available and nice, interior design is supreme. My only concern, is the lack of variety. Overall, come here for cheap and get amazing food out of it.

I am not someone who writes reviews. But I couldn’t help this time . One of the worst Indian foods I have had in the US. Me and my 1.5 year old daughter are constantly vomiting since we had their lunch buffet yesterday. And I have constant headache that doesn’t seem to go. We had to cut short our trip and return back home. The naans were undercooked , and the curries seemed to be at least 2-3 days old. Please spare yourself the horror and do not visit here specially with kids.I am still wondering how the restaurant has 4.2 star rating !

My good goodness!! We have eaten Indian food all over the world, and Mela is the best we’ve tasted thus far! Subtle and bold flavors mix together to delight the palate! We came to the lunch buffet, and the aroma as we entered the door had our mouths watering!! We spent $34 for the two of us! Unheard of!This place will bring us back to Asheville again. Not to be missed!Bravo!Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian and vegan optionsWheelchair accessibility: Excellent entrance and space between tables. For the buffet, will need assistance.

This is the best Indian restaurant in United States in my honest opinion. Quantity is lot and the quality is fantastic. And this is coming from an Indian who visited Nashville. Other Indian restaurants should learn from them!

Highly recommend, very good quality food, especially for a buffet style restaurant.

We used to love Mela years ago. It is obviously under new management. Gone are the white tablecloths, excellent service, and wonderful food. It is now subpar Indian food. The fish curry was a gloopy mess, more like a too-thick clam chowder. The samosa chat had maybe one samosa in the whole thing and mostly consisted of chickpeas in a overly tamarind-y sauce. The service was inattentive, but the golden milk was good, as was the garlic naan. Very disappointing to someone who used to adore this place.

Not as good as previous visits. Don’t order appetizer and entree at the same time as they have no idea about spacing. We were in and out like it was a Diner.

We've moved into the area, and this isn't our first time here, but it's always a favorite. Great Indian dishes, good staff, and moderate prices, but make reservations. Everyone else knows it, too!

Arrived a few minutes early because it was a busy night in Asheville and parking was a little tricky with a concert happening that night. Told the hostess that we had a reservation but we were a little early and understood if we needed to wait. She didn't take my name and said we would probably be seated at our reservation time. I said ok and she walked away with out talking my name. 20 minutes later at our reservation time she told me that we would be seated next after they cleared a table. She walked away and in walks a table for two - hostess comes back looks at the woman who just walked in and seats them at the table she cleared for my reservation. I was confused so I waited at the hostess stand until she came back but she kept walking by and not making eye contact- after about 10 minutes she finally came back over and I asked what happened since she said she was going to seat us and we hadn't been seated. She told me that they were busy and other people had reservations- I told her I had a reservation and she had told up we would be seated next over 10 minutes ago. She said - oh, name. I told her, she looked confused and the walked away again with out an explanation or response. A few minutes later they sat us at a table - it was clear that she sat a walk in at the table we reserved (I guess by accident) with no apology to us for the mistake and then proceed to make me regret choosing this restaurant over nearly any other restaurant in Asheville. Ordered - appetizer was good but entrees took a very long time and the naan was served to another table by accident. People who sat down after us had finished and paid before we got our meals. My food (I understand Indian food is spicy) was so spicy I couldn't eat it. The naan was taken off our bill after I asked about it 2 times, and finally replaced after my date finished his food. Date ordered a beer that was never delivered. Would not eat here again because the service was so so bad. What a disorganized disaster.
