After following them for years, I finally got to try out their food on Sunday at New Belgium in Asheville. I had the fried oyster sandwich. Probably the BEST fried oysters I've every had... tender, crispy and perfect. Unfortunately I couldn't have the sauce that they put with it because it contains milk, and they didn't offer me an alternative. So I just put some crystal hot sauce on it. My husband had the Seintan sandwich (vegan) that was spiced to taste like Italian sausage. He said it was quite good, and would order again.

It was a travesty the two po boys we bought at Highland Brewing. Some bland sausage on a hamburger bun. Please do not refer to yourself as a Cajun purveyor if you are not doing authentic food. Very nice people but not worthy of calling your food Cajun.Vegetarian options: Yes

Absolutely delicious food. Super friendly staff, good turnaround time- I barely had a wait. I got the voodoo chicken, brussel sprouts, Mac n cheese and naner pudin, so so so good. I will recommend this place to literally everyone I know.

Having this place at the brewery makes the beer taste better. Or maybe the beer makes the food better? Either way, it's good synergy. We had the pork and pimento cheese sandwich, fried brussels, chicken wings, and red beans and rice. The food was all okay. We really wanted to try the gumbo but they only make it when the weather is cold apparently? At least that's what we were told. It's right there while you're having a beer, so try it out. 3.65 stars if I could.

Collard Greens were fabulous, as were the Brussel Sprouts. Pimento and Bacon Sandwich was bomb. Fried Chicken Sandwich was ok. Prices were reasonable Definitely recommend this place.

Some of the best brussel sprouts I've ever had!! Super delicious and so much flavor! Who would have thought Pepper jelly and lemon salt go so good together?!

I've gotten Root Down a few times at the West Asheville Tailgate Market now. A good burger is a subjective thing that's going to vary from person to person, but I'm really inclined to say that this is my favorite burger period. Really wonderful patty, perfect brioche bun, extremely fresh ingredients. We've also had the Market Garden Wrap and that was likewise perfect. The employees I've interacted with have also always been super nice with fast service.

Root Down is now my favorite food truck in Asheville. The peach salad may be one of my favorite dishes ever. Well done ?

This is a mobile food truck so they're not always at New Belgium, but I like being able to leave / find reviews. Check their website or instagram for current location and hours. The fried chicken sandwich IS very good, but it's impossible to bite like a burger unless your jaw unhinges like a snake. Super juicy and flavorful chicken, well fried crispy coating, amazing avocado and cabbage slaw. Toss out the brioche bun, you don't need it.The mac and cheese is more cheese than mac, which isn't a bad thing, just be sure to add a pinch of salt and you're good.Friendly staff, super quick turnaround. I waited maybe 6 minutes for my order.Takes cash and credit.

Had their Brussels sprouts when they visited New Belgium brewery. Best ever!! Charred dark with killler sauce that I had on the side because my girlfriend does not like spicy. I'm from Chicago and if they had a gig in the next couple days, I would seek them out. I'll try the famous chicken sandwich if I can

I am not joking when I say that the pulled pork & pimento sandwich caused me to ascend to a heavenly place. The pickled red onions have a hint on cinnamon, which combined with the sauce on the bun, crispy pimento cheese, and tender pork, literally blew my mind. The grilled Mac and cheese is rich but not too heavy, and the slightly charred bits add a delectable flavor to the cheese. I will be returning for sure, especially given their outpost at New Belgium brewing on Sundays is a perfect combination.
