Just damn good coffee. Highly recommend. It's been a while; was in town in December. I think the drink I had was called the winter solstice. Rosemary and candied orange slice. Absolutely loved it. Big fan of treating coffee as a base for a craft "cocktail" experience; I'm utterly bored with basic vanilla/caramel/chocolate coffee drinks. Don't get me wrong, vanilla/caramel/chocolate coffee drinks are tasty, I'm just bored with them. Rowan Coffee brews a mean bean, and explores interesting flavor profiles. Love it. Ambiance was great: nice dark academia feel to the place. I was there on a Saturday morning though, so it was super busy. I wouldn't want to sit and enjoy my cup there in that volume of foot traffic, but I'd love to sit and enjoy my cup there on other days of the week during the midday lull. Service was stellar as well. They misheard my order; only charged me for one of the two drinks I ordered. While standing there waiting for our second drink for probably 15 mins, they realized something had been missed. They made my drink for free once they realized what happened. This was totally a two-party error: I should've noticed my bill was about $7 shy of the full order and said something before paying, but I didn't notice. They took it upon themselves to make it right anyway. Very grateful for that level of service.

Our orders were routine -- a house coffee, a hot chocolate, a chocolate croissant, and a slice of coffee bread -- so we can't comment on the specialty drinks that separate the wheat from the chaff. But what we ordered was good, as was the service. Rowan's row-house layout, however, makes ordering and picking up a bit of a cluster, and makes it hard to determine where the line begins. Nonetheless, we'd go back, chiefly bc of its convenient downtown location.

Ordered a silky breve latte. Drinks are definitely made with love of the craft. Cozy spot, parking next door, and the cohesive branding is a bonus. You walk in, and you know they're serious about making quality cups of coffee.

Nice downtown coffeehouse that was open on the weekend. Beautiful interior, marble tabletops and walnut paneling. Baristas were very knowledgeable and service was great even though it was about to close. Will definitely be back to try all of the coffee.

Great coffee. Quality of the coffee beans was very good. The size was right and the cappuccino has the perfect amount of espresso.

Ordered an oat milk lavender honey latte and a pour over. The latte was good, and not overly sweet, quite subtle and smooth. The pour overs are made 3 at a time (at least when we were there) so it took a bit but was ok. My brother in law quite liked the pour over - he wasn't expecting a light roast so it was a bit acidic but he said once he added cream it was really good. The prices seemed quite high, but we were expecting that thanks to the reviews.

Beautiful place and staff was friendly. Ordered a cappuccino and it tasted like vegetable soup. No idea why. Even went back to check the website to make sure they weren't serving mushroom coffee before leaving this review. Unsure what happened that day. Was traveling from out of town, so unfortunately I can't recommend this place.Parking: There is parking but you have to pay. Locals may know of better parking options.
Friendly, talented staff. Really cool exterior and large and unique interior. My drink was fabulous and made with artisan craftsmanship!

after visiting almost every coffee shop in the asheville area, ive decided this is the best one. for a couple reasons, but top of the list is quality and creativity. their latte combos are great and even their standard flavors are really nice. friendly service, and a really cool, relaxed but fun environment inside. highly trained baristas and top notch coffee.
