Outstanding restaurant. The food was original, fresh, light and so delicious - every dish. William offered great service - so friendly and informed - and Kate, creator of out of this world desserts, came by to talk about how she does her work. No wonder this restaurant has stood the rest of time. It's a classic.

A chef friend of ours recommended The Market Place. We are very happy he did, the food and service were great. My wife especially loved the Pavlova desert (my Posset was great as well). Highly recommend a visit to this fine establishment.

In Ashville to celebrate a friend's birthday, and went to dinner at the Market Place. Small plate-beet and asparagus salad was delish as was the lamb/pasta dish. We sat outside and service was excellent! A lovely evening! They even gave my friend a.birthday card, a candle and a slice of delish chocolate chess pie! Highly recommend!

We were promptly seated and well taken care of. It was quiet on a Sunday evening at 7. I ordered sourdough bread, a house salad and a trout flatbread. Total of about $34 for the three. Portions were small, food was unremarkable. Service was good. Glass of pinot noir was better than average ($13). My wife and I spent $127 total with tip for an ok meal, nothing to write home about.

We celebrated our anniversary. Our server was exemplary. We were not rushed, ordered several meals that were all spaced out nicely. Got to taste the specialty drinks before we ordered. Above all, they presented us with a very nice anniversary card!

This is a great place with a good vibe, we eat here every time we're in Asheville. We especially love what they do with items from our Foraging Tour (No Taste Like Home) and construct and appetizer. The food presentation is always stunningly plated.

Bartender Jason, server Christine, and the chef(s) provided a marvelous experience for this solo traveler. The ambiance, including the Dale Chihuly artwork was sophisticated and welcoming. The cocktail and tasty farm-to-table fare made me glad of my choice! Specifically, the bourbon and grapefruit old fashioned cocktail and cheese stuffed pasta made me wish I lived closer to Asheville! I returned to the Market Place with a group of 24 a few days later and had an equally enjoyable dining experience. We ordered from a preselected menu; I opted for the chicken that was smoked under a brick. Mmmm, mmmm, good!

Last nights dinner was one of the best I have had in Asheville. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. I will definitely be returning to try another dish. We had the beet salad, the Italian rice balls and the trout. The food was so good we decided to have coffee and the Chess pie even though we were so full. Even the coffee was fabulous.

Was looking forward to our experience this evening but unfortunately it fell a bit short. The server was not attentive, got our appetizer incorrect and overall flat. We asked for description of the menu and he was let's just say not very descriptive. But the hostess was very nice and we had a great table by the window.

Wonderful experience and will definitely eat here again! We had high expectations and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely excellent, what a delicious meal from start to finish! The service was also great. Very prompt, attentive, and knowledgeable waitstaff.

Very nice restaurant in a good location. Easy parking due to many parking garages in the area. Wait staff were very knowledgeable of the menu and were good to recommend the best selling items

One of the very best meals of my life. Every bite was filled with so much flavor! A few of our absolute favorites: fermented kohlrabi, cowboy candy,London Fog cashews, wood grilled steak, the Raspberry Beret non-alcoholic cocktail, and Thai tea sorbet. My husband cannot have gluten and the staff was very understanding and accommodating. We had a great experience here and would love to come back next time we are in town!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options are labeled clearly on the menu. Staff can also make small modifications for some dishes to accommodate.

Ate here on a recent vacation to the area. The service was simply outstanding. Very attentive wait staff with wonderful suggestions. We tried a couple of the apps which were delicious. My girlfriend and I had the steak which was very flavorful, but a bit tough. Our friends had the trout and a pasta dish which they were very happy. Overall, we loved the restaurant and would definitely eat here again.

Tried their pork schnitzel, or should I say deep fried pork chop. The breaded crust was almost black, therefore it overpower the meat. Sadly the schnitzel meat was pink at the bone.Wife had a pasta meal that was tasty. Not worth the price.

Absolutely totally fine cuisine. We were in Asheville for a week and enjoyed the Market Place so much that we ate there twice. In fact we both had the crispy skin trout both times! But everything was incredibly well composed in flavors and also textures. The posset desert was amazing and so was the pavlova. Also very knowledgeable and friendly service. Highly, highly recommended.
