Three of us went to Ava roof top bar on Friday night (5/3). First thing we are told as soon as we get out the elevator is the kitchen is closed, bar seating is open and if we want a table let the lady know behind the desk. We went to the bar to grab drinks. Three bartenders and not one acknowledged us and we waited for a good 10 mins before anyone said we will be right with you. Another 10 mins and the bartender finally takes the drink order and you can tell she didn't want to be at work that night...... The bar was not extremely busy at all.We find a table and take a seat. At this time a lot of people were coming in from downstairs and just using the tables and any seats to enjoy the night, bit none of them were purchasing drinks. I saw a few couples who had bought drinks that had no where to sit since people were coming in to take up seats without purchasing anything.We approached the bar again to get a second round of drinks, again the bar area was not extremely busy, three bartenders again in total. One came over to check someone out in the computer and I asked to see a menu which was behind him and he didn't even look up and acknowledge me. Second bartender comes up 10 mins later and says it will be a while we will get to you.....ok so I waited (not sure why).... five people came up to the bar after me and the bartenders took their order and not one approached me for mine. At this time I said close us out. Worst experience ever. I have been to busier bars and service was better and I am not saying I had to have my drink in the first 5 minutes but there was no acknowledgement and also bartenders were unorganized and by the looks of it none of them wanted to be at work. Nice atmosphere, but if they don't make some changes soon this business wont survive the way that it is being run.

We hosted a small happy hour event on the Rooftop and it was perfect. The atmosphere was great, there was shade on a hot afternoon, service was good - all in all a great experience.

Extremely disappointed with our first experience. There was supposed to be a dj from 9-12am, there wasn't one. It was a little chilly this night and the heaters only worked on 1 side of the bar. The kitchen closed early so we weren't able to get any food. To be charged $5 to get in, it was not worth it!

We decided to go to sports + social to watch the final four basketball games and decided to make a reservation for PBR which ended up being a table in a corner against the wall, with no view of the game and no seats. luckily we were able to cancel that reservation but we were stuck without anywhere to go for the game. BUT THEN we went upstairs to AVA and had a completely different experience. The hosts were lovely and super accommodating, we managed to get a section of the couches on the patio with a great view of the game and the rooftop, the bar was packed but the bartenders were quick to get orders taken and drinks made, the atmosphere was great, and they had a mediterranean buffet too which was good. Our only regret was not going to AVA first instead of wasting our time. Would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back next time we’re in town!

I’m really sorry, but they were ill prepared yesterday for the March madness game Sunday, Duke against NC State too many things that were too numerous to mention all fell upon the shoulders of our server, a lovely girl, but she had no control over the poor running of the food and the drinks for our group. I felt so sorry for her. We did take care of her and tipped her appropriately but at the same time Management has to understand you can’t just put ONLy two servers on the floor and expect your customers to be happy we were far from and when brought things to the attention of the manager who was running upstairs, all he did was shrug his shoulders, and say well that’s the way it isGot to be honest too there were some people out of control. Their language was awful. I don’t know what else to do but to say Management has to step it up before we come back.

Been here twice recently and both times the drinks were sugary and terrible, the bar was missing ingredients, and the service was okay at best. Disappointing considering it's a cool concept of a bar. Also, these new 5 star reviews seem fishy and incentivized, so that should tell you what you need to know.
