This place had some of the best szechuan I've had. I'm hoping they open back up soon. They were always a mandatory stop on my trips to Raleigh!

I drive by every other week, looking to see when they would open again. So sad that theyre still closed :(

Back in college when none of my friends had a car, we would split a 30 min uber to come here. I hope that speaks to how much I love this place. We didn't visit often because it was far from campus, but whenever we did it was a feast. The food is authentic, the menu is a 15 minute read, and the space can handle reasonably large parties (I've come here with ~10 people before). I've tried over 20 dishes here and my favorites are: (FYI, I made up some of the translations but the Chinese dish names should be accurate...) Sautéed Lamb on Toothpick 牙签羊肉: The lamb is crispy, well seasoned, and so tender. The experience of dragging the cube of meat off the mini skewer is oddly satisfying too, but it does slow you down... This is best enjoyed hot! Cold Spicy Jelly Noodle 川北凉粉: I've been a die hard fan of this cold appetizer since I was like 6, and Szechuan Taste's version does not disappoint. Make sure to mix the jelly noodles with the sauce and seasoning before enjoying. This is definitely a little spicy since the noodles are bathed in chili oil :) Spicy and Sour Hotpot Beef Soup 酸汤肥牛: I think of this as hotpot but with a unique spicy and sour broth. I usually take a spoonful of broth, a chopstick-full of beef, and mix it in with my rice. Fried Rice Cake with Brown Sugar 红糖糍粑: Who doesn't love mochi? The sticky rice cake is fried and then plated on a layer of caramelized brown sugar with soybean powder on top. This is a staple to balance the spiciness of the other dishes. Stir Fry Cabbage 炝炒包心菜: I was a bit suspicious of the dried chili in a leafy green dish - but it works. The cabbage is lightly charred and stir fried with garlic, dried chili, and some savory sauce. Homemade Pork Knuckle Soup 老妈蹄花汤: I could have bowl after bowl of this soup, it's rich in collagen and yumminess.

Omg did this close down? This place was amazing! I hope it’s only temporary.

Order Storm Fish & Toothpick Lamb for takeout last Thursday as this restaurant was still not offering dine-in yet. The Storm fish was made with flounder and it was as good as their Yelp reviews. My wife ordered the Toothpick Lamb. According to one popular foodie blog on YouTube, it's a signature dish of either Chengdu or Chongqing in Szechuan. With a toothpick in every tiny bite, I found it annoying. After I've satiated my hunger from smelling the aroma for the 25 min drive home around 7:00 pm, I started to eat more leisurely and enjoyed it more. My wife heard from YouTube blogs that those small bite fulls were fried in their toothpicks, keeping them drier rather than soaked in oil. That apparently worked because the meat was quite juicy w/o feeling greasy. We both enjoyed our meal. The restaurant only had takeout menus for us to order from, and no ingredients were listed. We plan to be back as soon as they restart dine-in so I can be really adventuresome with stranger ingredients.

The food here is absolutely five stars and it’s very authentic. However, the service for pick up is super bad. The guy was very rude to me and not trying to help. It was disappointing..

One of the best Szechuan food in town. I have been going to this place for almost five years. Keep up the great work!

Szechuan Taste keeps it 100%...100% of the time. Never had a bad dish, and the taste/cooking and menu selection stands-up strong in the global food community. We're lucky and fortunate to have this restaurant here in the Triangle! Don't wait...order now.

I’ve been missing spicy cold noodles that I was so fond of at a restaurant in my previous city- this place delivered them with enough spice to make my eyes water. The Mapo tofu if the most flavorful I’ve ever had. Szechuan Taste is not playing around with the chili oil so come correct!

The menu has lots of photos, which makes ordering easier. The restaurant itself is casual and similar to a typical sit down Chinese restaurant (maybe slightly nicer than others in the area). Overall I would say the restaurant tastes and feels quite authentic. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

My family is originally from Taiwan and this is one of our go to places in the Triangle! Amazing fried and spicy storm fish, delicious garlic eggplant, and other excellent dishes cant be beat! We probably get takeout once a week.

We ordered takeout for 4 people and honestly, not a single dish or appetizer was memorable or impressive. Based on the amount of uneaten food, no one was excited about the spread. We were hoping for more considering the reviews. Suggestion - the website posted menu is very difficult to read. Perhaps consider adding an expanded explanation of the dish?

The Chongqing Spicy Tofu is one of the best things I've ever eaten. It's a soup, deep red, spicy, and beyond delicious. I want to try everything now!

One of my favorite places for quality chinese food! I regularly pick up something from here. Mongolian beef and Szechuan Chicken are among the best, of course. Chongqing chicken is okay. Minced pork in sweet potato noodle comes with a lot but is ok. Twice cooked pork belly is my favorite! Always fast service, 会说中文.

The food was delicious! I had the eggplant with garlic sauce, and it literally melted in my mouth, it was so tender. Service was speedy and polite!
