Been coming to Med Deli since my parents moved to Chapel Hill almost 20 years ago and they never disappoint.Among other things, the falafel here will make you never want to eat falafel anywhere else guaranteed

Absolute best food in chapel hill and excellent service despite their primary location having caught fire. Still in business down the block, and food is still so amazing!

I have never had a dish like this before. Fatayer is a Middle Eastern version of a pizza/calzone. The soujouk fatayer came with aged spice Turkish sausage with eggs, feta, and mozzarella cheese wrapped in dough. This was no joke. It was HUGE and super cheesy. The sausage had so much flavor, it was so strong paired with the feta cheese but the mozzarella and eggs mellowed it out. The dough was perfectly baked. It almost reminded me of a soft pretzel consistency because it had a crust but it wasn't TOO crusty and the inside was so soft. I was picking off pieces and dipping them in their homemade tzatziki. You can't go wrong with anything at Med Deli! ‍

Med deli is one of my favorite restaurants and I'm glad they are still serving food on the UNC lenoir food hall. I got the gyro and wow it was mouthwatering, absolutely delicious as expected. Lots of good food and sides and was a great meal. Thanks again!!

so happy theyre back. food is so worth the price and price is reasonable too. its filling with many options. its like a cafeteria style + menu ordering. was overwelmed by the set up my first time and didnt know how to order. just grab a menu and order at the cashiers, they will give you a number to put on your table and bring your food out. when youre done, just put away your plates and tray.

Spacious and clean restaurant, great food. Huge selection of Mediterranean items. The chicken kebab platter was delicious. Everything was great. There's something for everyone and the food tasted very fresh!

Atmosphere: Mediterranean Deli is a spacious restaurant on Franklin Street. There is a large deli counter spanning a quarter of the restaurant, and the rest is the dining area to enjoy your food. Service: It is a mix of self-serve and deli-bar ordering. After looking around for a bit and finally ordering with one of the workers, our meal came out relatively quickly. Food: We ordered the Athen's Style Chicken (chicken breast cooked in cream sauce) with the Chickpea Salad and Lebanese Potato Salad, as well as the Moroccan Beef Tagine with Grilled Eggplant and Pomegranate Muhammara. All of the food was absolutely delicious and flavorful! Our favorites have to be the main entrees, the Athen's Style Chicken and Moroccan Beef Tagine. They were both so tender and addicting! Overall: Mediterranean Deli has some of the best Mediterranean food in the Triangle. There is a lot of variety, and the food is fresh! We are looking forward to them reopening soon!

…how is tzatziki not included with a gyro platter. Gyro was just ok. Cauliflower and roasted veggies were flavorless.

Med Deli was not just a restaurant; it was an integral part of my college experience, and its recent loss to a fire leaves a void that's hard to fill. I can't help but reflect on the countless moments of joy and culinary exploration that this remarkable Mediterranean eatery provided. During my college years, Med Deli was more than just a place to grab a meal. It was a hub of diverse and unique Mediterranean dishes that never failed to delight and surprise. Whether I was craving a hearty shawarma, a flavorful falafel, or a fresh and vibrant Greek salad, Med Deli had it all. The extensive menu was a testament to the culinary mastery and the dedication of those behind the scenes. The flavors, ingredients, and the overall authenticity of the dishes made every visit a culinary journey. It was a place where I could explore the Mediterranean's diverse flavors without ever having to leave my college town. It wasn't just about the food; it was also about the ambiance. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere of Med Deli made it an ideal spot for both a quick solo lunch and a gathering of friends. It was a place where I celebrated milestones and sought solace during challenging times. The loss of Med Deli to a fire is a heartbreaking one. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend, a confidant, and a cherished companion through the ups and downs of college life. While the physical location may be gone, the memories of the meals shared and the friendships forged will forever hold a special place in my heart. In summary, Med Deli was not just a restaurant; it was a treasured chapter in my college story. It provided not only exceptional Mediterranean dishes but also a sense of belonging and comfort. Its loss is deeply felt, but the memories of the extraordinary culinary experiences and the friendships formed within its walls will always endure. Thank you, Med Deli, for being a 5-star staple in my college journey.

Perfect, perfect, perfect; thank you, thank you, thank you !! First year using Mediterranean Deli to cater our annual women's only cycling event, le Tour de Femme, which raises funds for the UNC Health's Angel Fund and Kay Yow Cancer Fund. I have to say, all was spot on, I couldn't be happier with the food, the service when we picked up the food, and even the provided Vegan/Vegetarian labels for each dish that was ordered. Women even told me that they had registered because they heard we were serving Mediterranean Deli for lunch; nice !!
