Excellent Barbecue Fried Chicken. Recommend Dark meat as the light meat is a little dry. The sides are good too. Very nice old drive in. Worth a visit from anyone in the area!

Food was trash, nasty disgusting chicken wasn’t cooked properly and the barbecue sauce was a mess. I was not happy with my order so I requested a refund, no refund. I trashed the trashy plate because it didn’t meet my quality of food.

Best Cheese burger, best Fried Chicken, best Bbq and onion rings anywhere! I recommend this above any other restaurant 50 miles of Charlotte. Don’t forget their signature bbq sauce, Nothing better than that!

My parents have been coming since 1980 I grew up on you guys I understand changes with no longer doing the Loaf bread under the chicken or the sesame buns but tonight I'm beside myself with you guys when I was a baby my daddy would squeeze the potato out of the fries for me to eat when I was 6 months old in 1983/1984 Thomas,coop and later shorty were like family I remember getting suckers from them when they'd bring our food out fast-forward to tonight it's my mom's 66th birthday and unfortunately she has being in and out of the hospital since late November through December & bedridden so she wanted a half chicken plate and sliced bbq sandwich I had a birthday card I was hoping to get signed but unfortunately the curb hop didn't care about the back story on why we were there don't get me wrong food was quick but if you guys have lost touch with your customer base I wish the best for you guys but tonight as I tried to explain why we were there it fell on deaf ears we came from bessemer city only to be overlooked as I was hoping to have you guys sign a birthday card to show mom you meant the same to her as you guys meant to her growing up as I tried to explain why we were there your curb hop was only worried about the order not why we were there I'm sadly disappointed I didn't feel like family tonight I felt like a next in line

My girlfriend, who has passed away, has been coming here since the early to mid 60s. We loved driving up to the menu boards and pressing that button. Someone would respond something like, "mmMurmph *crackle* schmizzz". We would then place our order. Over the years I had eaten the best Chicken Liver Sandwich, Po' Boys, King Fish, Chopped Bar-B-Que, Onion Rings, Chicken Salad, Fried Chicken, Bar-B-Que Chicken, Chicken Salad, all of these items so delicious. Once in a great while an item might be off. The severs were always great. Crushed ice for the Cherry Coke. A unique oil based Cole Slaw. I have moved cross country. Miss NC Barbeque.

Mr. Shorty, who has worked at Bar-B-Q King for 61 years, took GREAT care of us!! And the food was delicious, as always! Highly recommend the Bar-B-Q Chicken (be sure to watch Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives before your visit), the Onion Rings (OH MY, YUM) and a Cherry Lemon Sundrop!
