Where do I begin? For her birthday, my girlfriend wanted to go to Bistro La Bon. I immediately opened up my OpenTable app and made reservations to Bistro La Bon on 12/10/23. We confirmed the reservation about three or four times over the course of the week and we confirmed with our family that they would be able to go with on 12/17/23. Imagine our shock to find out that OpenTable had booked us to a restaurant that has been closed down. It looks like it has been shuttered for a while. Now, I have never been to this restaurant and it had been a few years since my girlfriend had been there. We were there at 11 AM for a birthday celebration brunch and we had no place to go. So we ended up going to a small local place that was no place I would've gone to for a brunch or generally at all but we had no choice so thanks openable for all your help. The day was completely ruined, and I felt terrible that we couldn't celebrate the day. I had been meaning to leave this review all week, but was busy with work and the holidays. Luckily OpenTable sent me an email to rate my experience, so there you have it

Unfortunately when I made the reservation open table neglected to inform me that the restaurant had been closed for 2 months! I even got texts asking me to confirm my reservation! Thanks a lot!

This business is closed. It has been closed since November but unless you go to their instagram you wouldn't know we showed up all dressed and hungry and it was closed. I'm Mad at them and OpenTable for still alowing us to make a reservation

This app and restaurant allowed me to make a reservation, even confirming, but the restaurant has been closed due to a fire for over a month. I drove quite a distance along with my guest who drove in to meet me from out of town. A total dissapointment.

Came here for our anniversary for my first time. Everything on the menu looked fantastic so we had to taste a number of dishes. Everything was perfect!I loved the mushroom gnocchi and the mashed potatoes were some of the best I ever had (so smooth and flavorful)!!!Why I’ve never been here before I’m not sure and yet I will not forget the place.Right off Central.Lots of building and work going around so they don’t have a parking lot. You will need to find street parking or park further up on the public parking area.

The host was rude but our server was very nice. The prepared foods were all good, we asked for one of everything ended up with two of everything so a good amount of waste unfortunately. The items on the buffet are okay some lack

I went on a Sunday, they were serving all you can eat buffet on this day, however we were able to order waffles and French toast so they will be hot and fresh, they were both good. Overall the food was great! My friends enjoyed everything, especially the shrimp and grits. The grits were tasty, I would go again, I am interested in trying their non-buffet menu. The only thing I would say is there needs to be better maintenance on keeping the area clean, the area that is against the wall where the buffet is, had dried caked up food, also to keep the hand sanitizer nearby full and available, there was a gentleman who I watched blow his nose at the bar and walked right over to the buffet to get food, it did turn my stomach. Overall we had a good experience our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable.Vegetarian options: There was a variety of selection If you are lacto-ovo vegetarian as myself.Parking: There were parking behind the restaurant.

So I had heard great things about this place. We went here for the for the brunch!! Everything was delicious..I highly recommend the brisket and the shrimp and grits. Now while everything was great..they definitely missed the mark on variety. We had a friend with us that that didn't eat pork..and they had no substitutes like turkey bacon or sausages. Things to note...they do have some items that you have to order ala carte to your table like pancakes and French toast etc. Other than not having alot of options. The service and the restaurant was nice. It is a little cramped price included a mimosa!!Parking: When we went..the restaurant had a little bit of construction going on...the parking lot behind the restaurant is small..so get there early

We came for brunch on a Saturday morning and there was no wait. This is the best non traditional breakfast food you’ll have! Huge portions and everything was delicious. I got the a.m. carbonara and it was so good! Definitely coming back here on our next trip to Charlotte.

Celebrated my birthday here and baby… the food! It’s mostly small plates but that’s all you need the portions and flavors were amazing I left no crumbs lol. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely the best breakfast/brunch I’ve ever had. Literally shocked. I don’t know anything about Charlotte but my son moved here literally yesterday. I was heading home today and wanted to have breakfast with him before leaving. We came to central Ave for snooze A M because of the great experience I had with place of the same name in Denver. It was packed so we went across the street to Bistro LA Bon. Didn’t look open but alas it was and about 1/4 full. I read the reviews and was intrigued especially about “huge portions” comment. I’ve never met a portion I could not handle- until now. There is a unique buffet from which to choose items (shrimp etouffe, beef, grits, real fresh fruit, vegetable salad) but in addition we were table served crisp bacon (in a boat), scrambled eggs, French toast, waffle and one egg Benedict. Literally, seriously, everything was excellent and neither my athletic trainer son (6’4”, 240) nor I (6’2”, 250) could finish. I asked the waitress what the cost was. I was expecting to pay $75-100. It was $27 per person. I still don’t believe it.

The food here is always top notch!! The first time I came I had the brunch and I wasn't thrilled but I've returned multiple times for dinner and I'm blown away every time. The chefs really put their love into the food and it shows. The service is quick, efficient, and customer centric. I love getting a variety of small plates and just sharing them with the table. There are so many options but the pork belly, meat balls, and lamb chops are my must haves. They have a great variety of drinks and wines that compliment the meal nicely. Be sure to get a few glasses of wine to go with their beautiful charcuterie. The inside seating is perfect for cold days but outside seating is my go-to when the days are cool out. The restaurant recently experienced a kitchen fire and they aren't open at this time but I'm wishing them the best and hope they can open their doors again soon!

My girlfriend and I had an unforgettable dining experience at Bistro La Bon. From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the exquisite flavors of the food and the delightful drink selection. As newcomers to the restaurant, we sought assistance from our server, Shelby, who proved to be incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She enthusiastically recommended several delectable dishes, making our decision even more challenging, but in a fun way! After careful consideration, we settled on trying the seafood Mac n cheese, lamb chops, and zucchini fritters. While waiting for our order, I couldn't resist trying the flamingo martini cocktail, and it was a delightful surprise! Bursting with fruity goodness and effervescence, it was a true treat for the senses. The seafood Mac n cheese was a standout dish, creamy, and brimming with flavor. Grilled shrimp and a lobster tail adorned the dish, while the addition of breadcrumbs provided an enjoyable crunch. Every mouthful was a delight, and I was sad to see it end.Next up were the lamb chops, cooked to a perfect medium temperature. The flavor was rich and satisfying, leaving me craving more. Accompanied by well-seasoned sautéed vegetables, the dish offered a satisfying tender-crisp texture that complemented the lamb chops beautifully. The zucchini fritters were skillfully prepared, although they lacked a distinctive flavor. Fortunately, the lemon aioli dipping sauce elevated the experience, adding a zesty touch to the fritters.Throughout the meal, Shelby's attentive service and exceptional recommendations enhanced our dining experience. Her passion for the cuisine was evident, making us feel welcomed and valued.Overall, our visit to Bistro La Bon was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of delectable dishes, impressive drinks, and top-notch service leaves me eagerly looking forward to returning for another culinary adventure.

Nice place but wasn't overly impressed. Had reservations for noon arrived about 15mins early. Host seemed annoyed that we arrived early but seated us anyway. The ambience was nice and the mimosas were great. Was disappointed with the buffet selections but liked that the eggs, bacon, French toast and waffles were made to order...that's until we received Luke warmed food for our table. Overall the food was just ok and I've read some good reviews about this spot and the brunch buffet. This seems to be a popular spot on Sundays but I can't say that we will ever visit them again. Just our experience so yours could be totally different.
