“The owner is so nice. She did not give me my drink cup until my food was ready so she upgraded me to a large for my wait. She was very friendly. The establishment is extremely clean. The good was cooked fresh and you can tell that the ingredients are fresh. Try the garlic cilantro sauce. I got the chicken fresco bowl with a side of plantains. It was plenty of food but DID NOT make me feel weighed down afterwards. I am ready to go back!“

“No visit to Optimist Hall will be complete without getting some desserts to go at Suarez. Browsing their selections makes me feel like a kid in a candy store! Of course I was far too full to eat any of them at the time, but trust me, they travel well and are just as good later. This trip we decided to try the Strawberry Chiffon and Tres Leches cake. Any time I see tres leches on a menu, I cannot pass it up! It was very good. I love that they have them individually made in containers since that helps to hold in the milk that makes tres leches so amazing. It is very rich so we have ate a little at a time. The Strawberry Chiffon was even more delicious than it was beautiful! I will definitely be getting it again on the next trip. It reminded me of a strawberry shortcake, only fancier. The cake was fluffy and the strawberries and cream were sweet without being overly so. I love trying different items every visit but this will certainly be a repeat every time. It's hard not to want one of each item that they offer. Everything looks so tempting! I can't wait to return and try more.“

“Stopped at the food truck in the University City Lowe's parking lot. Food was delicious! The Cuban sandwich was not what I was expecting, but I chose it with chicken and it was beyond delicious. Came with fries. The guava and cheese empanadas were the best! I highly recommend!“
“The Pernil was actually really juicy. We ordered to go and while we waited for the Pupusas my daughters ate all the rice and Pernil leaving me just a few bits. Normally I have to go eat this at grandmas house but being able to pick it up along with my groceries was a treat.“

“*Overpriced American Pot Pie with Caribbean seasonings aka El Puro's Empanadas* ▪︎ Order - I only ordered 4 empanadas (2 chicken and 2 beef) to take to-go. They gave me 4 beef. ▪︎ Price - $16 + tax for 4 empanadas (for that price I expect food to taste like back in the island). ▪︎ Food - 2 out of 5 stars. Whoever is giving high stars must be social media influencers or people that don't know how food criolla should taste. Starting with the dough, it was puffy on the outside and chewy inside. The meat was mushy and watery like what American chicken pot pie looks like. The flavor was lack luster. The audacity to present those as what Cubans make was sad, especially with the TONS of really good authentic Hispanic foods on the same road. ay no.“
