I'm not one to leave bad reviews but the service and the food here was just simply not good on top of that this place is overpriced AF for shitty ass food. Be absolutely fucking forreal.

Still on the search for a good Mexican meal in the Gastonia area and once again I was very disappointed. It's obvious that for a busy Friday night, they are understaffed and underprepared. My girlfriend and I both said we would not order from here again after ordering Barbacoa tacos and the California steak burrito. Under seasoned meat on both items, poorly wrapped and designed burrito with store bought salad mix with cabbage thrown inside the burrito. Both meats were highly fatty and chewy. As a person born and raised in California I'm spoiled with great Mexican food, but I'm not hard to please, we will continue our search.

Great traditional food and great service. The owner and staff work very hard to make sure your dining experience is well enjoyed. If you're unhappy with anything, they go out of their way to correct anything within reason immediately. They can't fix what they don't know, speak up. They are also making upgrades in dining area to help you to be in calm and cozy environment. The place has a real homey feel. Lots of seafood and the tacos and tamales are the bomb!!! Best Mexican restaurant in Gastonia IMO!!!

I have been wanting to get here for a long time. The avocado with shrimp salad was on special to I finally made it here I'm so glad. Super good. Fresh ripe avocado. A whole one. Big fresh shrimp. I did take out so I don't know about the service but my order was on time for when I wanted it Every one was friendly and helpful I will surely be back

Due to the good ratings of Agave on Yelp, my wife and I decided to give it a try. It sits next to a shady looking hotel, and there are homeless people hanging out in the parking lot of the restaurant. My wife would not allow us to eat here because she didn't feel safe. I think their business would do a lot better if they got the homeless people to leave the front of it.

They have a fake Mexican food section and a real Mexican food section on the menu. (Literally) The real stuff is GREAT. the cocktails are delicious. We got stuffed and had a few drinks and we're super happy with the check Under $100 with the heavy tip! Carla waited on us. Her English is a bit limited, but she had zero trouble communicating, and she was charming. You gotta go there if you like REAL Mexican food! Good luck finding the entrance, but don't give up. It's worth the effort. (Hint: it's on the right side as you face the front.)

Excited my family and I got to try this wonderful restaurant. These tamales are authentic and so is the remaining of the food. Great portions. Will love to come back and try their seafood. Service was great, we had a waiter that was new but was knowledgeable of the menu. And the music was just right in regards of the noise, not too loud.
Food is so fresh and delicious. The service is amazing. We have been there several times and they remember us and what we like to drink. This will become your new favorite.

The food at Agave Mexican Restaurant was amazing. I ordered avocado stuffed shrimp. They were tantalizing to my tastebuds. The whole fried snapper was crispy, well seasoned and comes with seasoned white rice. My daughter ordered her favorite arroz con pollo. The dinners came with a small salad with avocado and accompanied by floured or corn tortillas. I ordered on line and picked up within about 25 minutes. The restaurant is clean, spacious with very basic table and chairs. Perfect for family dining.

This place is a hidden gem in Gastonia! Seriously the best and most authentic Mexican food I have ever tasted! The servers are always kind and helpful but the food does take a little bit longer to come out. However, this is because they really take pride in their dishes and quality of the food so it is 100% worth the wait! The atmosphere is no frills and family friendly.
