Authentic Laos cuisine in Charlotte! I was floored when I searched on Yelp for Thai cuisine and found this taste of Laos instead. My first visit here was at lunchtime during the workday. The exterior is clean, as well as the interior. The ambiance is equivalent to that of a fast-food restaurant. The food is elevated. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the cashier. I informed her that it was my first visit, and she was super polite, explaining the menu and giving her recommendations. I ultimately ordered a broth-based soup that equates to a pho with thicker rice noodles. The broth was flavorful, and the thicker noodles absorb that flavor nicely. The meatballs had a great texture and flavor as well, and the temperature of the dish was piping hot. My nose was a bit congested, and my stomach was a bit unsettled on this particular day, and this helped. For dessert, I had a dish that had sweetcorn, purple, sweet potato, and tapioca pearls in a sweetened coconut cream that was divine. It was the perfect end to a great experience. I've eaten here a few times since and enjoyed absolutely every dish, including the phenomenal chicken skewers. Anything you get here is a guaranteed home run.

It was raining today and we wanted to finally make the drive to JP LaoFood ToGo for the first time and boy were we NOT disappointed.Food is superb! Customer service is what you expect from an Asian restaurant. The overall establishment is a reasonable size. It’s fast food almost style but the dining area is large and can sit easily 8-10 tablesPricing was on point & serving size was generous! The side green sauce was delicious. We enjoyed the noodle soup, the Laos sausage meal with sticky rice, and lastly their amazing minced chicken plate.We left nothing to spare and overall spent under $40 with 3 entree dishes and drinks (ordered on a second receipt)We don’t get a lot of Laos options here in Charlotte but I’m just happy to know we have one EXCELLENT restaurant.I also LOVE how they have quick meals to go. We ended up buying a bunch of packed meals to take home with us.There’s a saying…. If you don’t see the children of the owners in the front area or doing something at the restaurant you might have to ask yourself if it’s really authentic. ? Asians are less concerned about how pretty a place is outside but more importantly the value/taste of their overall mealGrade: APS: I wish we had one closer on our side of town but it’s worth the 35 minute drive or if you’re passing by near the CLT airport
This food is amazing and they even have food ready to go so you just grab and go as well as made to order. The spring rolls for $6 seems like a steal for how big and full they are. And that peanut sauce!!

Been my fav place for years ! Idk why I never left a review but I sure do tell everyone I know about them ! So happy they are now a restaurant and able to expand as they deserve. Hopefully they use the drive through because babyyyy it’s lit at that point! I always get a Thai tea (no ice so I can have more lol) chicken wings (which I love but I’m picky about veins and bone marrow etc) so I’ve started getting the chicken on the stick and omg yea same bomb flavor just without the veins. With the chicken I get the sticky rice with the green paste.. ugh sooo good so timeless! Love their lomein as well and their fries ( remind me of in ny when I add duck sauce ketchup and hot sauce! Iykyk)If you never had them start with this and you’ll be so satisfied ! Chicken wings are small so keep that in mind .. I just add extra when I like and they gladly adjust.Oh yea and I love that I can just text them and place a order ! I literally copy and paste ?

I got the 3pc wing with fried rice and it was ok. The wings were really good but the chicken fried rice was below subpar. The chicken just wasn’t good at all. Would not recommend that. Service was great though! I also highly recommend the green apple fruit tea!
We love this place! The food is great and we all got something we liked. We have been several times this month and will be going back. Thank you guys for opening a bigger place. Much Love ?
Drove all the way down from SC Columbia to come get some food here and it is absolutely ridiculously delicious. The chicken wings were my favorite. You can’t beat southeast Asian chicken wings they are the best.

Their store was interesting since they bought what used to be probably a Hardees. I only got their chicken and sausage with rice and i regretted not getting more of their food. I also got one of their sodas the green apple flavored which went well with my food. I plan to try them again when I'm visiting this area and maybe try their papaya salad or wings. George the croc said chomp chomp out of 3 chomps!

Went to the new restaurant, since they changed for the first time. I got to say their Food is still great. I ordered the Lao Sausages, Chicken Wing, and Pad See Ew. They are all tastes excellent. Especially the Pad See Ew is not too salty, just perfect. The new location is great instead of the food truck, now it has a place for you to sit down to eat.it was clean. The staff was friendly like before. The food value is great, you got a lot for its price. The only thing that is stopping me for 5 stars is the amount of time that I have to wait for the food. I waited almost 45 minutes to get three dishes. They are operating like food truck, which usually takes a long time for orders. But I have faith this will change over time. Also I don't mind waiting for good food.
