After reading through the reviews I decided to give them a try today ! I had jollof rice , chicken & plantains and everything was so good ! I’ll definitely be returning soon !

Omg when I tell y’all run don’t walk to Mama Gee’s cause you’re gonna be missing out on some good ole authentic African home cooked meal. I was born in Ghana ?? and the fact that there’s a Ghanaian restaurant in CHARLOTTE makes me soo happy. The food was everything, they will have your food out fresh and hot for you. I always get the Waakaye(my favorite) & also the banku and fish. This is my go-to restaurant. Thank you mama G for this delicious fingers?? ??
The first time I stopped by was on Saturday, 04-01-23 after receiving a few positive reviews about this being the place for good African food. I was disappointed that they weren't available due to roof issues because it meant that I'd have to cook. I returned on Saturday, 09-16-23. I called ahead and ordered banku and okra soup with tripe, donuts, and a side of jollof rice for someone. I can't speak on the rice, but the soup was good and filling. I wasn't a fan of the donuts. I'd definitely return to try something else on the menu.

Some of the best food I’ve had in Charlotte…First time having authentic African food and this place blew me away. I got the jollof rice with chicken and sweet plantains. I will be back. Also shout out to Kobe man great customer service.

There's a reason this place is so highly rated; it's the best African food in CLT hands down. My wife and I are always looking to try new ethnic foods around the city and this is by far my favorite. We had the Joloff rice with Chicken. The flavors are amazing and the portion size is very generous, and I eat a lot of food so I am not saying that lightly. The staff are super friendly too. This is definitely worth the drive!

The guy at the counter was super friendly and communicative. I plan to go back again to try different things. The tsoofie looks particularly interesting.Things to note: different items on the menu are available on different days, mostly on the weekend, so keep that in mind. Also, it’s takeout ONLY, so don’t expect to sit and eat there. Otherwise, enjoy!

Clean carry out restaurant. You must drive by and order the jollof rice ( African red rice) it has this intricate flavors ( bells peppers, tomatoes onions, and other spices). Order the chicken, other the plantains, try the other dishes. You will be back. No photos because we ate everything.
I love Mama Gee’s! Their plantains are always perfect! I usually get the jollof rice with chicken. The portions are generous and the food is delicious!

I ate the fried plantains in the car. They were too good, they did not make it home.This is a vegan plate so you can request jollof rice and fried plantains. Pay them a visit. Support local businesses. I will be back for more.Professional service, clean carry out place, easy payment system.
If a Haitian?????? approve other nation’s food, that’s mean the food taste really good. That’s my first time having west african food. The jollof rice is tasty, with the sauce (mild) its perfect. The price vs what you get is so reasonable. I recommand this place. Can’t wait to try other recipes.
