My husband and I chose Primo Prime to celebrate our anniversary this year. I am amazed it took us this long to find this place. What a hidden gem! The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff were all very warm and welcoming. Dean took excellent care of us in detailing the dishes and making recommendations. The food and wine were delicious! We started with the Shrimp St. Thomas, then had the Buffalo Mozzarella and Primo Prime Chopped Salads. For dinner we had the Tagliatelle Bolognese and the fresh catch of the day, which was halibut. Both were cooked to perfection! We finished off the meal with a Crème brûlée cheesecake and an espresso martini. We are already looking forward to going back to try other dishes on the menu, as they all sounded equally delicious! It was a lovely night out and I highly recommend this restaurant.

This was my first time here despite living in Charlotte my whole life and I absolutely loved this hidden gem. All of the food was delicious and our waitress was perfect - Will be back.

We had a nice server, though overall staff were having to rush too much. The server got a very good recommendation of wine from the bar for our dishes. Gnocchi a la Coda was too salty. Five-spice duck was excellent - cooked as ordered and with excellent flavors. The main courses of two of our party came more than 10 min after the others. Most importantly, it was so loud the six of us were unable to carry on a conversation. Why do restaurants think that is a positive feature? Can't go back there because it won't be enjoyable.

The service was excellent starting with the fact we were running late and they still let us be seated when we arrived. Our server was very friendly and informative of different menu options. Food was great and portions were very good size. We will be back again!

A small jewel where the food and service is excellent. The noise-level can at times be jarring to the point of being deafening. Also, the up charge for sharing plates is unnecessary and counterproductive inasmuch as any cost benefit derived by the restaurant is likely to be more than offset by the impression given that yet another charge is being added to my restaurant bill.

Food and service were fantastic! The atmosphere is close quarters and we were seated at a double table stuck onto the side of a booth so it felt like we were in the way a little bit, but we still enjoyed!

Primo Prime could lead a master class in outstanding customer service; they really know how to make you feel like a valued customer. Our dinners were delicious, as always. Thank you for helping to make our Christmas Eve dinner a truly special evening.

Great selection of standard Italian fare with attentive service. This is a relatively small space, and should you require a quieter section, ask for the tables away from the bar side. Looks like a local favorite, and we will most likely return.
A charming and cozy place with exceptional Italian menu, food, service and reasonable pricing for the quality received. Location and parking not ideal, but worth a little extra effort for the experience. We consider it one of Charlotte's hidden restaurant gems!

Birthday dinner for my parents 76th birthday. The New York strip, bread, bean dip and wine were delicious. The Dover sole was very good. We never received the gnocchi appetizer that was ordered, and hopefully was not on my bill… the waiter was very friendly and helpful with what to order. The coffee was way too bitter (they took that off the bill, after I said something) and the crème brûlée cheesecake was not good and didn’t have a hard crème brûlée crust.. The sorbets were good but served in the mango and lemon shells. I expected more creative, delicious and high end desserts. Last but not least, I called to make a reservation the day before and was told they only had 5:30 or 6:45. I had to leave work early to get there from Lake Norman by the 5:30 reservation only to find out the restaurant was not even 1/8 full, even when we left… and yet we were seated at a table near the door and bar instead of a comfortable booth in a nicer location. Overall disappointed.
