Stopped in the bar for a drink and chips & salsa trio. Drinks were very well made, balanced, tasty, and the service was really good. Bar tenders were very friendly. It is a very very dark little bar which I really like. Music was too loud for my taste. Will definitely come back to try food next time.

I came here expecting a good time with my best friend and had a terrible customer service experience. I did not like the sauce on a taco and instead of recommending something else or replacing the taco, the waiter went in the back to the kitchen on numerous occasions, and I heard her and the staff laughing about me not liking the tacos. It was during closing time and it was extremely unprofessional. I ate one taco out of three and they came up to $25 and the manager took off $2 and said “I took a couple dollas off (exact words) I paid the bill but I will never be back. The rice was dry, the sauce was too spicy, the shrimp was unseasoned and the salsa was not good on the tacos. When we politely asked the waiter about the spice in the sauce she said “Well the spice levels depends on who is cooking that day.” Which is weird to me because a recipe should be consistent no matter who the chef is that day, and should maybe give the consumer a heads up prior to ordering it, if trained appropriately, especially if they may have spice sensitivity. Please save your money and go to Que Onda in Uptown, they are more authentic, great customer service and taste better for less the price !

I have been to Puerta before and had a great experience. Unfortunately my latest experience has tainted that. We put our name on the wait list and was told to return in an hour. Not a problem at all! We go run an errand and return. We were then promptly told that have us down for the lounge. Which was confusing because our reservation said table and also the lounge area was already occupied by a group who clearly just ordered their beverages. We explain and show our waitlist text confirmation. The young ladies at the front continued to tell us that we're only down for lounge seating and if we wanted a table it would be ANOTHER hour. The "lead hostess" proceeds to argue with my friend over the wait list text and having to wait another hour. As this is happening there were other waitlist parties being seated. I walk back into the restaurant and to my surprise there were TWO open tables. I spoke with the alleged GM and she said to me they were reservations that were late... there was never any kindness or customer service extended. The staff was a snarky and immature. Which is unfortunate and I'm still trying to understand what the actual issue was and why we treated so poorly.

We came in very late with a large group and honestly would have completely understood if the staff turned as away or was not happy about our stay. They were so kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The DJ was great, service outstanding, and food amazing. It was a birthday celebration for myself and they went above and beyond to end my evening with such a great experience. This was my second time here and it will absolutely not be my last. Shoutout the bartender, service, and kitchen staff that night for putting up with our nonsense!

Our new favorite restaurant in CLT! My wife and I went there for our anniversary and everything was phenomenal. The cocktails were delicious, the food was top notch and not like every other restaurant that offers the same options and the desserts were incredible. Our favorite was the service and hospitality from everyone there!

Incredible new spot. Everything was awesome food wise, but please don’t put people like 6 inches from other tables. Take one or two tables out and give people breathing room. The dining area is shoulder to shoulder on the wall side. You’re eating while trying to tune out other people’s conversations in arms distance.This place is stunning, but it’s expensive for the sardine can experience. The Larry David episode where they eat lunch and think a guy is listening to their conversation has never felt more real than eating here.

Puerta was so good and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the sweet potato empanadas 10/10. I also had the queso dip which was an 8/10 I enjoyed. Lastly the Spivey margarita was super good and had the perfect amount of kick! I sat at the bar a genuinely enjoyed the service. I will definitely be returning.
