Halcyon never disappoints. The set menu selections were all super delicious; deep flavors; perfect portions. The staff were friendly and they followed CDC guidelines to help all diners feel safe. What a wonderful evening we had. Felt like a little piece of normal. Thank you Halcyon. We can hardly wait until your new adventure opens up. We'll be watching for the announcement. Ron & Sherry

I was lucky to visit this restaurant before their farewell. We had an amazing experience and can't wait until they change their concept to come back and visit. The restaurant was beautiful. Located in the mint museum and with just beautiful designed and decorated. We came during Covid times and they had these cute little pods that kept you warm and in a little bumble to keep the germs away! These were heated and you could see the Charlotte skyline. We had a tasting menu that was absolutely amazing. It was so hard to pick a favorite, but I have to say I would love to go back and have the duck soup. The flavor and taste was out of this world. The drinks and service was outstanding. If you are able to book a slot before they close to revamp their concept I would totally recommend it! I can't wait to come back for more!

First time there for 5 course dinner. Too bad it's closing down. Food was bomb. Drink pairings were bomb. Ambience with greenhouses due to covid was a nice touch. I will definitely be making a reservation at the new restaurant they'll be setting up.

I don't know why I've never been here but I'm so glad I finally did. We came for our three year anniversary and everything about the night was amazing. This was some of the best food I've had and I'm sad they'll be closed til Valentine's Day but I promise I'll be back sooner than later. So the restaurant is located at the Mint Musuem on the 1st floor above the ground level. We were able to be seated outside on their patio in a little insulated hut which had a heater and still a little chilly but had such an awesome view of the Christmas lights outside. We started the night with some drinks and after being seated, the food was awesome from the get go. We had a roasted kale salad to start which was light and refreshing. The duck soup came out next and I couldn't stop myself from devouring the bowl. Next was their seared sea bass and it was nice, flakey and super flavorful. Now I could feel myself getting a little full but when the short rib came out, you get this wonderful smell and I took a bite. I was in absolute heaven. My stomach gained a whole new life. Lastly, finished with dessert and I always same room there. The Chocolate Pot de Creme which was a perfect blend of chocolate, hazelnuts and creme. This meal was phenomenal from start to finish and I want to say all of the staff for the evening were friendly and just overall fantastic. The ambience, safety protocols and everything else about this evening was perfect. I know you're changing it up but please make sure the food stays this good!

Halcyon has securely held on to its designation as my top restaurant in Charlotte, for many years. I personally think that it is completely underrated and should get a lot more press/credit than it usually does. I have been to Halcyon for pretty much every type of meal possible... business lunches, first dates, birthday celebrations, drinks at the bar... and everything in between. Here are the top reasons why Halcyon has been my favorite restaurant in Charlotte: 1) The food has always been consistently fantastic. I have truly never had a bad dish at Halcyon, and I am fairly particular with my food. Their cocktail program is solid - not the best in the city, but close to top tier. I recommend sitting at the bar and enjoying a beverage, even if you aren't eating a full meal, because it's an underrated spot. If you work on this end of Tryon (DEC, 3 Wells Fargo, etc), it's a great spot for classy cocktails with your team, or with that coworker that you've had your eye on ;) Much better than my team's watering hole at the Epicenter (gag) since we worked at the BB&T building. 2) The intimate nature of dinner service. Trust me, I love going to a fast-paced restaurant from time to time, but there's something to be said about a mature, intimate meal. Whenever I've gone for dinner, I find that patrons are respectful of other people's experiences, and it's peaceful and quiet. People are usually dressed nicely (but it's not stuffy or formal by any means). The music usually is not too loud, the lights are dim, and you get some great views of Tryon Street from pretty much any table in the restaurant. 3) Upscale lunch, but reasonable prices. I have conducted many business lunches at Halcyon and it's always one that impresses clients. I'm sure they are often taken to the nicer chains like McCormicks or Ruth Chris - so this is a new experience for most people that I've met for lunch. 4) The patio is a hidden gem in Charlotte. There is NOTHING like sitting on that patio with a cocktail in the summer, watching the sun set over the buildings. One time I actually had the pleasure of enjoying dinner on the patio during a street festival, which had live music and a bustling crowd. It was so great to people watch and enjoy the urban energy, but not be directly on the street, as their patio is above the street level. Overall - I can't rave about Halcyon enough, and I can't wait to get back to enjoy dinner once they re-open successfully (fingers and toes crossed).

A truly beautiful restaurant with incredible food. It's lovely to have such a gem eat that you can always be proud to take friends or business associates. Everything is superb--from quality, to preparation, to execution, to service. We have enjoyed Halcyon for years and have never once been disappointed.

Ordered takeout for second time this evening. Can’t believe how great. We had fried chicken first time, gumbo and flounder tonight. Eating this quality of food at the price is rare. Please do try for yourself!!

Just had the carry out southern style rib roast and my wife had the Springers Mountian Farms Fried Chicken, OMG it was so good along with the sides plus we had leftovers! What a great dinner along with the Double Chocolate Sea Salted Cookie as desert made it perfect. What a fantastic dinner!

Located on the 2nd floor of the Mint Museum Uptown, with indoor and outdoor tables. There’s a view of the plaza in front of the Duke Energy tower. The space is airy and comfortable and even when filled you can enjoy conversation at your table. The menu offers a variety of options, including vegetarian, and features locally sourced products and local daily catch. Small but good wine selection. I had a roasted kale and farro salad with local snapper. The fish was crisply grilled and moist inside, although a little chewy on the edges. The roasted kale and farro was served with tahini dressing, Marcona almonds and raisins, resulting in a nice balance of savory and sweet flavors and a range of textures on the palette. The service was mixed: very welcoming reception, but the waiter seemed as if he would be happier in a line of work other than hospitality: unfriendly vibe and completely ignored our coffee and dessert request. Otherwise recommend if you are in Charlotte looking for fresh local fare.

This place has a beautiful ambience set with an urban backdrop but the food did not match the Decour. The menu is so limited for being a farm to table restaurant it really disappointed me. I took my girlfriend here on a date thinking that all the reviews that I had read were accurate; how terribly wrong I was. Not only was everything over salted but the portions were extremely tiny; honestly you're better off going to Soul Gastrolounge then this place. Needless to say I will never go to this place again. And I wrote this review so that nobody else makes the same mistake that I did. This place sucks!

Food was good service was very poor. Had to wait 30 minutes after our reservation, took a very long time to get drinks, server rarely checked in on us, brought desert out to our table and put it down that was meant for another table and took it back

The restaurant is beautiful. The food was wonderful. But the service was the real standout here. Mary took care of us and there just aren't enough words to describe how well she took care of my husband and myself. There is nothing better than really really good food and absolutely perfect service. Kudos to Halycon and Mary for making ours an exceptional dining experience, by far the best we've had in Charlotte in years. Oh and try the Apple Buckle......it's AMAZING!

We were lucky to be there mid-week on a snowy day thus very quiet. Service was good, the waiter helpful when I needed to cut out port from my choice and the resulting dish, with added veg was delicious. It's a pretty space in the same building as the gorgeous MINT craft museum and has that design esthetic. Good beer, rather pricey wine by the glass. My only suggestion for those of us who must avoid pork is to not on the menu that it can be replaced.
