I love the loungy house music they play. The only thing that was missing was a dance floor. The soulful, classy, and sexy house music is what makes Soulgastrolounge stand out from other bars and restaurants in the Charlotte area. What a great place to get dressed up nicely and take someone that you want to impress out on a first date. The food is AMAZING!!!

Second time a Soul the watermelon pork belly taco still good, but a little low effort, I remember they used to marinate the watermelon in the past and I got a side cut. Would not recommend the bone marrow it's what I expected bone marrow would taste like though , it's basically tasteless. Ceviche needed more lime but was ok , the chocolate bread pudding was pretty good .Not sure if they only do that on Wednesdays, but there is absolutely no need to have a DJ at such a small place it was really annoying especially that the music didn't match the lounge setting.

Head to this spot as soon as possible!!! The food is magnificent, the service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is just great! We will go back again and again!

Highly recommended! Nice lounge with a cozy environment, live DJ, and a cocktail menu worth trying. Everything from the menu to the martini was delightful. Will add to my list to visit when I'm in town.

This place has gotten better over the years.Better than average tapas with a very cool atmosphere. Even the bar seats are nice in this very compact space. They do have a few booths but I've never been in them because this place is always insanely busy.Tuna tacos good but not the best variant in the area.Sashimi - HUGE pieces of fresh fish. Nice variety. Highlight of the night.Brussels - different here than anywhere else but very good.Oysters - fried but very large and nicely battered. Would love if they had raw oyster but they don't.Falafel -. Not good... Skip itThe wait staff are all very good. Top notch in all respects ?. Inclusive of water refills.

RIP soul. Please come back sooner rather than later. This is my favorite restaurant in Charlotte without a doubt. It's always packed with a wait for a good reason. The cocktail selection hits every time and they're so delicious. The ambiance and low lighting sets the perfect date night mood. The menu variety will have you coming back. We miss you soul!

Soul's signature, the Pork Belly Tacos, are probably the best tacos I've ever eaten! The Shells & Cheese are rich but absolutely fantastic! The Shortribs are melt in your mouth tender and dowsed in the best teriyaki-type sauce. Dislikes: The fries weren't very crunchy, but I was told they are usually better! Well, it's closing until they can find a new home but hoping for a soon relocation! I arrived at 5:15pm to get my name on the waitlist and was told the wait was going to be 2.5 hours, I then went back after the 2.5 hours were up and she said she had told me 3.5 hours, which wasn't true. We were seated around 10:00pm. I wouldn't even have been that angry about the long wait if I hadn't been lied to at the beginning of the experience. I still have no regrets for waiting this long to try this Charlotte staple and will definitely be back when they reopen. Overall Rating: 4.6
I'm so sad, this place closes on the 16th this month. I'd give this place a 10 star if I could. The ambiance (great music ), the bar tenders are divine and let's not forget the food, absolutely delicious. I think I'm going to come every night until they close. So apparently the people that own the building has raised the rent 140% so this place has to clothes down. It is definitely a treasure in the Queen City and I am so great full that I was able to make it. Hopefully they find a new location soon.

I will miss this place. We went Saturday evening and had all of our favorites. Now we were in line before 5pm and still had an hour 20 minute wait for a party of two.

Oh my deliciousness! We ordered SO MANY things and every single thing was AMAZING. The sushi is some of the best sushi I have ever had. The watermelon taco is such a unique food item but it's really delicious. So sad to see this place close right now. Can't wait for it to re open in the future.

Omg I'm so sad they are closing but I'm so glad they are relocating! The food 10/10, the service 10/10 - Justin our server was BAE, so personable and looked out for us. The owner even came around and talked to us. This place is amazing you HAVE to patron!
