I love the mission. The food was good. Cocktails could be better. I'm fine with the service since people are learning how to wait tables; just temper your expectations. The crab and spinach dip, fried green tomatoes and veggie plates were delicious. I personally didn't enjoy the underlying flavor of the fried shrimp or fried oysters.Absolutely support the 501c3 and am glad they exist in our town, and I'll be back. But I won't order mixed drinks again and I'll be more mindful for the food I order.

My family and I were visiting Charlotte for my son 16th birthday. We stopped here after getting settled from the air port. And OOOOOMMMMGGG...the food was so delicious. It was like something straight from my Momma's kitchen. We had mac and cheese, fried chicken, greens, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, biscuits and cornbread, and the crab with spinach dip. It was SO good, I didn't want to stop eating my food. But when I did, I was miserable, LOL...If you ever come to Charlotte's Upton area, The Kings Kitchen is a must try.

The food here is so good. One of my favorite places to go in the city when I visit. The broccoli is to die for. I always need the extra to take home with me.

Overall the food was delicious. I got the fried chicken, my husband got the salmon and we shared the vegetable trio. For the price and size of the salmon I feel like it should have come with at least one side dish. The corn bread needs to be taken off of the menu, it was awful. Our waiter Jay was great.

Visited for lunch as it was across the street from our conference hotel. I had the trout & broccoli & would order both again. We also tried their deviled eggs as as appetizer.

Went here for date night and overall enjoyed my experience. The place is really beautiful and welcoming. The food was delicious. Unfortunately some of the food came out cold and the server was a bit behind so it took about 20 minutes to get the check when we asked lol! Other than that I genuinely liked it and the food was decently priced. I would go again.

This is a great place to eat downtown. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. It’s a nonprofit organization and the proceeds go to a good cause.

Place was absolutely amazing! Food was soooo good and the staff was phenomenal. Would def recommend. They are super kid friendly which is a plus. Was able to enjoy good food in a nice place. They also give back and donate meals to the local community which I admired. Hands down one of the best dining experiences since visiting NC. Shout out to Mickey the manager who was such a welcoming and kind spirit.

Wonderful service ! We were greeted as soon as we stepped inside and our waiter was very patient as it was our first time dining here . Food was great , love the mission , and will most definitely be returning.
