The food including desserts is outstanding. Definitely pleased our taste buds and left us wanting to come back. Very unique place with great selection of creative and unique entries that was surprising to find in a regular shopping mall. If you’re in the area, highly recommend. One of the best restaurants and chefs in Charlotte for sure.Desserts are in house made.

My friends and I went here for the first time last night and loved it! We split an order of the bread (the honey butter was so good) and really enjoyed the bourbon glazed chicken, zoodles, and krabby patties. Cute spot with a nice patio and delicious food. We will definitely be back!

Had a spectacular dinner at The Teal Turnip in MoRa over the weekend. If you're into small plates, this is the place for you. One of the best meals we've had in Charlotte and we go to a different restaurant just about every weekend. My wife and I ate our way through half of their winter menu (menu changes seaonally) and were both amazed at the flavors and creativity in each dish. The drinks were fantastic as well, and service was excellent. It's a small place with modern decor in a newer strip plaza off Monroe Rd. in Oakhurst that also has a Nightswim Coffee, yoga studio and a few other tenants. The restaurant was not busy at 7pm when we sat down, but was pretty full when we left.Photos include the following dishes:The Devil You Know (bacon jam stuffed dates)Aunty Koocho (roasted chicken hearts)Psycho Killer Kefta Satay (turkey skewers)I Yam What I Yam (sweet potato & grilled bread)Like You Got A Pear (kale & pear salad)Cahones (brisket meatballs)Bourbon Chicken (glazed drumsticks)Recovery (vodka cocktail w/ carrot & celery juices, turmeric, tea, ginger sugar rim)Other things we had, but not pictured:It's All Greek To Me (Greek bean dip w/ pita bread)Bread Pudding (dessert)Tiny Z (mezcal cocktail w/ simple syrup, lime juice, cucumber and hot sauce)

If you have a gluten allergy this is the place to go. They were so accommodating for me and KIND about my allergy, which is rare. I truly appreciate the care they took to make sure that I got a great meal + super delicious gluten free dessert. A lot of the dishes are naturally gluten free but if they aren’t they make sure to sub with something just as delicious. 10/10 will return.

I didn't really look at the interior before booking a reservation, only the food. Unfortunately I had expected a bit more of an intimate setting. It was way too cramped, with tables 12-18" apart. The environment was just a bit too cold for our date night. The food was decent. The fries were the standout, pasta was ok but servicing size of the protein was petite at best. Would consider trying again if I was in the area, won't drive 30 min again intentionally though.

Arrived at 5:55 for a 6:00PM reservation. Multiple staff walking around prepping and maybe 4 of the available tables filled with couples. We were not asked for a drink until 10 minutes (yes really..I know!!) after we sat. Drinks came around 5 minutes later while tables around us were ordering and starting to get food. We were very hungry and the food looked decent. We asked the bar 5 minutes later for our server and bread (20 minutes after seating). Nice bars staff (3 people) told that they would take care of it. At this point, we observed a table that had sat after us with no reservation (we could hear when asked) had already started receiving food. Server stopped at our table and acknowledged that we had been waiting a long time when she apologized first before we could even start ordering. Finally after almost 25 minutes after seating the server took our order. We advised that we had been waiting for quite a long time and would appreciate something brought out. We watched the server(who was very nice) have a conversation with the chef / expeditor and both looked up and at our table. I saw them move tickets around and the server came back again and said that they would get us something quickly. After 5 more minutes (30 after seating) of no food and watching the same items we ordered being delivered to other tables who already had other courses (small plate Tapas), we had enough and left. Brisk apologies were conveyed and statements that this never happens were offered. Went to Dave's Hot Chicken down the road and were done ordering and eating 30 minutes later.TL:DR Inattentive staff, no serviceParking: good parking

My husband and I happened to drive by this restaurant after an errand and decided to stop by for dinner. We are so glad we did!! The lavender lemonade mocktail was delicious and refreshing. (It was a bit too late for alcohol for us, but we will be back to try their cocktails!) We had the truffle fries, Aunty Koocho, and Cahones, then the mousse for dessert. All were amazing. My husband especially loved the Aunty Koocho, and he and our waiter had a great conversation about how the dish came about. One of the owners (Steve) also stopped by the table and we got to chatting about the different menus. You can just tell he puts his heart in soul into creating a fabulous menu and ensuring guests have a great experience. We can’t wait to go back and try the various seasonal menus!

Recently, I had the pleasure of tasting the food of The Teal Turnip catering service at the CRVA meeting at South Park Mall. Also, I had the opportunity to visit the physical location at the Oakhurst Common Center near Monroe Road in Charlotte.Great customer service. Highly Recommend! ~ Lorenzo
