We had urban sweets bring their ice cream cart to a client appreciation event. Kristen was so easy to work with and she wrote up a package that provided a lot of options without going over our budget. Our clients raved about the ice cream! It was 30 degrees outside, the building’s heat turned off at some point, and people were still getting in line for ice cream in their full winter gear. We will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a dessert vendor!

I love how they have a dairy free option. The service is above and beyond. I love the theme of the business and ice cream carts. There is a lot of gold being used, and the owner is always smiling happy. Kristen

We tried this place over the weekend. Ice cream flavor was good and great service, we were greeted and were able to try a few flavors. We like that they have an “oat” option. It was hard to find parking on the street. Also they need to make more space for tables and chair inside.

Ice cream is amazing & so was the owner. The flavors are true to their name, so flavorful. I’m adding this to my list of ice cream shops. Ice cream so good, that 2 Lactaids didn’t help. I wasn’t mad either. Lol

Went in for first time with a friend. Very friendly owner behind the counter, and the flavors are named after different Charlotte neighborhoods - neat concept. Bought a pint planning to stretch it out for a few days but devoured it all that night!

Absolutely delightful experience at this urban ice cream gem in Charlotte! The vibrant atmosphere perfectly complements their wide array of unique and delicious flavors. From the first creamy bite, I was transported to a world of pure indulgence. The friendly staff made my visit even more enjoyable. A must-visit for any ice cream enthusiast or anyone seeking a delightful treat in the heart of the city!

Loved their ice cream. We tried other flavors that were really good. We got the banana cream and raspberry lemon. The owner is the sweetest!

New customer her who will be a regular! Stopped by last week and it was a highlight to a long day. Not only was the ice cream top tier but the owner is an absolute gem. Good people making good ice cream for sure. I got butter pecan. I typically go for something fancier but it was delicious and nostalgic. I never out grew sprinkles and theirs were nice and crunchy. I’m happy to see their well deserved popularity lately and hope everyone has patience as they continue to grow and improve. Definitely worth a visit! I will be back.

Urban Sweets has some of the best ice cream in the city. A cute little shop located in the busy South End area so parking can be difficult but if you are out and about already this is the perfect treat. They also have pastries and small cakes. The ice cream is my favorite though, they have so many different variety and flavors. I cannot even tell you what my favorite flavor it is. On Thursdays it is $5 milkshakes as well and you cannot beat that. Kristen the Owner is the absolute best! She has the most bubbly personality and loves serving ice cream herself. She is worth it alone to stop by Urban Sweets. You can also catch their cart at many events throughout the city especially in the summer time. They also do large events such as well.

I took myself on a much needed ice cream date to this new vibe located at Southend, but Willmore for the old heads that know better, and remember all the shops lined up and down that corridor— like the area encircling Prices Chicken Coop, Dilworth Theater, and Nivens Drugstore… Ya, I’m that old???????? Anywho, the parlor sits closely to the location where Sonya D’s fitness studio sat, across from the bakery, but adjacent to another piece of history, Bojangles on the corner of West Blvd and South Tryon.Speaking of preserving history, let’s talk about the ice cream— The assortments are named after popular neighborhoods in the Charlotte metro area from North, East, South, Lake Norman (arguably part of the metro), and West Charlotte. The ice cream is topped with different goodies, adding notes of love like chocolate, fruits and nuts. I ordered the McCrory Heights Mix. They were out of that flavor, but the server recommended Biddleville Beast (cake batter, fudge, and chocolate) as a decadent runner-up.The servings were either scooped into two sizes, small or large cup. Urban Treats offered homemade waffles cones with one or two scoops of ice cream that were large in portion.Though the ice cream was fluffy and sweet but not toothache sugary— The cones were more on the opposite side of sweet, which is complimentary to the flavored ice cream that had precise balance of fudge, batter and chocolate.Seating:You won’t get to throw a birthday bash; however, the trendy spacing allows for a few tables, and patrons, where you can grab ice cream, and sit outside, in the sun— maybe at the surrounding seated areas uniquely built into the apex of the building, next to $4.00 garage. Though there’s more areas to park freely. But, this is close for a madam in heels! The vibes:The owner greeted me warmly, while still maintaining the zeal to keep serving well past 5:00pm, which translates good vibes, humility, and southern hospitality all in one location.I say, take the family, or a date, and tour the area…. If you remember the past, the present should be that much more adventurous and darling thanks to locations like Urban Sweets, keeping memories and legacy alive with even the smallest contributions.
