I defiantly would like more flavor in the food and maybe shouldn’t have ordered tempura style veggies. I envisioned something else in mind and the batter on the veggies filled me very fast. I ended up giving up on the veggies and went for my sushi roll which was delicious. I love Sake and the bartender recommended a nice smooth one for us. I will go check out other locations in town.

Amazingly fresh and great tasting Nigiri options. Imported selections fresh from Japan you'll get lucky to get your hands on some awesome Medium fatty Tuna and Sea urchin, best I've had in Charlotte. Great Whiskey selections for those who want to find rare liquid. Secret menu item is Mama Ian's Bowl.Kid-friendliness: Lots of family's with kids.

Had the best sushi at Yama! Enjoyed the vibes, great and friendly service! Phenomenal top notch quality tuna & salmon nigiri totally blown me away. I have recently visited Tokyo Tsukiji fish market couple of months ago, was so surprised the Uni is just like what I had in Tokyo ? sweet shrimp was amazingly fresh and beautiful. Definitely recommend to anyone who’s looking for fine Japanese dining experience, you will be very pleased with their quality of nigiri ?

Clean place. Service was good. We had appetizers - brussel sprouts and deep-fried chicken. Both delicious. My party had sushi. I had shrimp teriyaki with fresh vegetables and fried rice. Delicious. Little pricey but definitely a return place for us.

-1 star overall for slow service and value for Everything was delicious. If you’re looking for legit, amazing sushi/sashimi, this is it. Quality fish and fantastic execution. Tuna totoro was definitely the star of dinner.We were seated promptly even on a busy Saturday night, and our server was amazing! Her recommendations were great, and she was very attentive and friendly. However, this is the longest meal of sushi ever - 2.5 hours for 1 appetizer, 1 small dish, and 2 rolls. We did order another roll in the middle of the meal, but waiting a whole hour for 1 more roll seems excessive.Feels nice enough so if you dress up you won’t stand out, but casual enough to wear a t shirt and basketball shorts. Perfect for a date night or if you just want to treat yourself to a nice dining experience. The bar is beautiful if you wanted to sit there.This place is overpriced. Anything with sashimi was TINY, the smallest portion sizes I’ve ever seen from a sushi restaurant, even upscale ones! Yes, the quality is there, but it’s on par / more expensive than sushi in LA.

Waitress was unattentive, never refilled drinks. Unless I asked we ordered calamari had to send it back. Cause it was never cooked properly. It was like eating rubber bands. All sushi rolls had little flavor and tempora needed seasoning. It had no flavor at all. Nothing at this place had a wow factor you would think it's trying to be a upscale restaurant. They would have the bathroom CleanAnd both men's and women's bathrooms were not clean at all. The bathrooms looked older than the restaurant. Too many employees standing around and not taking care ocustomers needsCustomers needsGuess needstables or guest needs. Manager acted bothered when we asked for help. We have tried many time to ear and thr line were long and wait time has a hour. We cam to night made a reservation for 5. When they open. Walked In they did not ask if we had a reservation sat us we dineded for 1.5 hours and the place was never full. I can get better and much more sushi at Optimus hall of sake express
