The Boxcar Grille is a staple in the Claremont community and in Catawba County. The food is good. The best part is the salad bar. The service is decent. You may have to wait a little bit. But the wait staff is always nice. The atmosphere is top notch, and they have remodeled somethings which has given it a fresh look.

Karen was the nicest server ever. We want her to be our Grandma. The bread was so soft and amazing. The SALAD BAR had tons of options, all fresh. Awesome flavors in the food - grill ck with mush and onions and Brunswick stew (light BBQ flavor). Wish they had one close to where I live. What a gem.

Definitely a place you'd want to your family to. Affordable and decent options to choose to eat. Also, the salad bar option is also good for those who don't eat much. Overall, very well worth the visit, been dining in for years. Have a nice day everybody??
Excellent choice! Very friendly server, quick and accurate. Friendly-happy atmosphere. They brought some rolls and butter when I sat down and right away I knew I was in for a treat. How can rolls be that good? Crispy buttery mmmmm. I got fried pickles for an appetizer and while there were WAY too many ? they were some of the best I've had. And the Outlaw Burger and fried chips... Dann was that awesome. Just really good. 5 stars!
