JD’s is one of the best BBQ places we’ve ever been to. The service is phenomenal. Mary, the hostess with the mostess, is hands down the best host ever! Our waitress noticed our food was taking a little longer than usual (for us it didn’t feel long at all, actually 10mins shorter than what we wait for in Miami) and checked up on our order. Just so happens to be they made a human mistake and lost our ticket, to make it up they gave us 2 extra sides, which my husband finished immediately! The food quality & taste was great! The bbq sauces, phenomenal! We will definitely be back next time we’re in town, and we will also suggest it to anyone who will hear us out.

Delicious food, great service and you get your food quickly, even when they are busy...which is almost always.
Our first time here and didn't care for it. From the moment we walked in the door, we were bombarded with workers asking questions. We weren't allowed to look at the menu first without them saying, "What can we get you, what drink do you want, etc." We waited like 5 mins and our "fresh" food was brought to the table. The BBQ was tough. However, the banana pudding was rockin'! We paid $50 for three adults to eat. Overpriced food. We will find other BBQ restaurants in the future.

To start off this review, upon walking up to the establishment, all you could smell was a smoke pit which gave me huge confidence that these people know what they are doing. You order the food at the register, pay for it, and then they seat you which is cool, I prefer to pay pre meal so I dont need to wait around for a check. Not that it would have been an issue because our waitress was on top of our drinks like a hawk. We ordered the ribs and brisket. The ribs were fall off the bone and full of smoke which was amazing. The brisket was slightly moist which is very impressive for most briskets. I find usually, most bbq place's brisket is very dry, texas was the only place that I ever found a melt in your mouth soaked with fat brisket. This place definetely doesn't beat texas bbq, but, its some of the best I have had other than texas. So all in all this place gets a 5 star from me, would definetely return.

I had the half smoked chicken tonight and it was excellent. My food came out quickly and my sweet tea never ran dry. Pro tip – don’t skip dessert. It is excellent as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Stopped by during our recent visit to blowing rock. It was nearly an hours’ drive one way, but still was well worth it. The best barbecue in this area, period. We had briskets, ribs & pulled pork - everything including the sides tasted fabulous. Highly recommended!

The best BBQ in Western NC! There was a line when we walked in but it moved quickly. They have this business run like a well oiled machine. The Staff was super friendly, there was not a long Wait to get out food. The food was excellent. We ordered pork and beef brisket platter with green bean casserole and the chicken platter with fries and baked beans. The meat was super tender. Excellent we will be back!

Fast friendly service. Never had anything there I didn't like. Brisket, barbeque, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and jalapeno cheese grits are always winners. The mustard sauce is the best!!!
I had a great lunch experience with my friend Susan Houck for an early birthday celebration ?. The waitress was kind to supply us extra plates to put the slices of birthday cake on. I will return again!
