This was a small hole in the wall along our way home. We were hungry coming off of a camping trip. Expecting diner food, we got your typical southern country menu. First thing was, upon walking in there was no greeting. No have a seat wherever. Or please wait to be seated. It was like they expected us to know. It was packed with what looked like the cast of deliverance. Pretty sure the town has some special olympians. The biscuit was huge and edible and that's about the only good thing we can say. Except the unsweet tea was good. So two things. The cubed steak special was anything but special. It tasted like canned cat food and the gravy was cold. The country ham was so salty it wasn't edible. Could not see a bathroom, but it was tiny so maybe they share it with a neighbor. Although it was a Sunday, and Sunday dining out options are quite limited in the south, I guess I shouldn't have had such high standards. Looked like an all women crew which is cool. They did receive a 99 score on some sort of health inspection but I suspect the health department officer is part of the inbreeding that's clearly going on in this town, cuz there just ain't no way they could pass any sort of health inspection. But I'm only judging what I could see and that included a very discolored and greasy ceiling, crud built up deep in the window sills and the blinds looked they they came out of a smokers trailer from 1962. So if you're going through Dobson on a Sunday, stop in for a biscuit and some unsweet tea and then keep driving before you hear dueling banjos.

Was freezing inside. Guess they keeping temperature down to help kitchen staff or for whenever the temp reaches 80° today. But it was freezing inside at 1pm. Food and service was good. Looked like only one waitress, but she was working it!
