This really exceeded our expectations. Small menu but every item was very well prepared and presented. Highly recommended the tomato pie appetizer and every entree was great. Our server was very attentive and the ambiance is quite intimate and nicely done.

Great New Year's bash. The best part was the dropping of the crab pot at 10:00.

Turkey wrap and pasta salad were both yummy. Clam chowder was great too! Waitress did great with our big group.

Was recommended this place from a local fireman and man it did not disappoint. We had a lovely experience here and such a sweet waitress who killed it with our large party! Food was delicious and very flavorful! Calm chowder was small but packed with spices and so yummy. Bathroom is quite the experience though...curtain stalls major throwback to the 1960s but cutesy

Came in Mid December from out of town and not many restaurants open so I stop here. The food was excellent I had clam chowder and the scallop and fish with a cream sauce over rice was and it was incredible do not remember the name it was the special and Waitress Skylar did a great job.

November 25, 2023 We have been going to the roadside grill for many years when in OBX and loved it . However on this trip there was a sign outside "cooks wanted" which kinda scared us since our last visit was iffy but we chalked it up to a one off. The atmosphere was great a bit kitschy and cool with the sea glass. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. When sitting at the small bar (seats 6) you get to watch the cooks at work. The cooks were not the usual ones we were used to seeing and their demeanor did not make me comfortable. I will start by saying the food portions were way too large. The clam chowder had lots of fresh clams but the broth was too thick and a bit pasty. My husband had Oyster stew for an app and loved it. His main meal was the 14 oz rib eye (smallest size you could get). He did not like it and said it was extremely tough. I had the Ham shank and it was ok but I have had better for $38. The broccoli was perfectly cooked but the garlic mashed potatoes were too dense and not enough butter and seasoning. Bottom line is we will limit our visits to lunch until they work out their issues. And again smaller portions please. America is fat enough.

Staff and service was great and so friendly! We had (huge) salads and steamed shrimp, everything was delicious! It's the oldest building in Duck...fun fact we found out. They only close for a month in January so it's a great place to come in the off season. Definitely coming back!

We ate here on Friday Oct. 20. Bartender was super friendly. Highly recommend the clam chowder, best we've ever had. I had the Grouper special and it great. My wife had the Tuna, was super pleased, cooked perfect and not many places get it right. They did. Chef was great to talk to. She explained a lot as we sat at the bar waiting for our food. Backyard bar was our kind of place. The band had to cancel because of rain but It would have been a great place to see one. Will go back next time we are in Duck. Thanks for a great experience.

Excellent service and good food. Right on the main drag in Duck. We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the main restaurant of Tomato pie with greens, salad and the Vegan Thai entree. All 3 were delicious and perfect servings. Everything was so good, we returned to enjoy the back bar for Mark's Bingo. They have a really cool outdoor bar that has a great seating set up and a full bar. Limited menu outback but you can order from the regular restaurant menu too. They have live bands 3 days a week and other fun events. Definitely a regular stop on Duck visit.

We were able to bring our two pups to dinner with us, which is very important to us. Our waitress brought them water many times. Food was amazing. Would highly recommend!

Love this special little place and the seafood and salads together turn out. Have been going and returning for years. This year the warm.mushroom salad had changed. We won't spoil the surprise but do not fear it is still n excellent. We like the outside seating just fine. The booths by the bar are also fun. Be sure to stop in.
