This place has a pretty good sushi deal for lunch, especially if you're getting multiple specialty rolls. Their hot food is good too (according to my friends - I'm a sucker for sushi). They tend to be quick,so you can fit this sit down meal within an hour on most days. It's usually not *too* busy for lunch, but once in a while I've had to wait for a seat. After having been to Akashi multiple times, I can say it's pretty solid and a good choice for sushi at lunchtime.

This place was delicious. I lived in Japan several years and I miss authentic Japanese flavors. This place has them in all their dishes. Sushi is extremely fresh!!! We will definitely be back!!!

Very solid RTP-adjacent lunch spot for sushi and hibachi. The service is fast and they aren't usually packed during lunch time. Flavors and portion sizes are good and it's not expensive compared to the 2024 post-inflation prices everywhere. But temper expectations. This isn't a fancy place and it's not going to be the best-you've-ever-had type of experience. It's good enough and we come here every 1-2 weeks for lunch.

The food was quite good. I had the unagi don and my spouse had the sake don, and we split an order of vegetables tempura. The problem was the service. While we were there, a group of diners were also having lunch, and one of them was struggling to pick up her fried rice with her chopsticks, which is a rather frustrating activity since fried rice doesn't clump together like steamed white rice. (Just use a fork or a spoon.) I noticed her and just felt bad for her, but my significant other, who speaks Mandarin Chinese as a native, overheard two of the servers making fun of the poor woman in the language, right in the main area of the restaurant. Also, my spouse wanted them to hold her garden salad and pay the difference for a seaweed salad instead, because she strongly dislikes lettuce salads, but the server was uncooperative. Lastly, our vegetables tempura was supposed to be eight pieces, but we only received seven.

We went with a party of 9. Enjoyed 1/2 price sushi rolls. Service was friendly, and food was prepared as ordered and fast. The restaurant was clean for the most part. Easy parking.

Great place for takeout sushi. Ive been going here through at least 3 owners/families. The current owner is doing a great job with consistent food quality. The atmosphere is ok. It smells like fried food. It's no frills, like an old diner. However, it's very good food! I usually get rolls with just fish and vegetables, I'm always very happy with it. I go out of my way to pickup sushi here regularly now. For the.price, it's outstanding.

Excellent service and very fresh sushi. They have Kirin Ichiban beer and really good Udon noodles with shrimp tempura.

This place is a rip off. I asked for light onions and I got half a plate of onions. This is ridiculous!

I enjoyed my meal at Akashi. The specialty menu is extensive. We picked this place because they also have other entrees that accommodate the non sushi eaters in my group. It is also highly rated on my initial search and that made me comfortable to bring my family there. The service was good, we didn't feel rushed, and appreciated being checked-up on by our server a few times during the meal. Already making plans to meet my friend here for dinner.Parking: Located in a strip mall, so parking is very easy to find.

This is my second time ordering from here, my first time, I got the wrong roll, this time the tuna does not smell or taste good. Fast forward 30 minutes and I’m not feeling good at all. The prices are fantastic but the sushi isnt worth it IMO.

I made a huge mistake getting takeout from here. I called my order in. I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I get there my foods not ready. The resturant is basically empty. it's more servers than patreons. Yet I have to wait another 30 minutes for my food. So in total it took an hour for my food to be ready which I could let go. But I ordered sashimi smh ? im pretty sure they didn't start my order till I arrived. Unfortunately the meal was a waste of money. Very bland sushi rice and small portions for the amount of money they charge. What hurts the most is I decided to go here over shiki sushi. I just wanted to try something different. I highly suggest you stay away from this hole in the wall.

I know, I know... why grab sushi in North Carolina? Well, I craving it and was not disappointed. It's not a hole in the wall nor is it some upscale Japanese restaurant. I'd probably call it the "neighborhood's sushi spot" because it's casual, good, and the staff is just super nice! I had a chicken bento box and a half-side of their rainbow roll. Their chicken was nicely grilled and all the sides were just nicely portioned if not over-portioned (in a good way). Their rolls alone are already a 10/10 because they didn't over-do it with the rice. It was a really good balance and the fish tasted fresh for being in NC! Staff was extremely friendly, and they came by often to refill my water. They even gave me a free green tea as a departing gift back to CA. 100% recommend and would come by again.
