The food was pretty bad. I ordered the Brisket with Hush Puppies, Potato Salad and Peach Cobbler. So let’s give a rundown of each item.Peach Cobbler: Was old and hard. There was a piece of it about 4 or 5 inches long that may have been from the edge. It was hard and inedible. It tasted old and burnt. There was little to no flavor outside of the burnt mixed with sweet.The Hush Puppies: Were SUPER hard and old tasting as well.The Potato Salad: Was a 6.5 out of 10. Not great but not bad. Had a good flavor to it.The Brisket: This was THE biggest disappointment. While it was a decent tenderness to it. There was ABSOLUTELY ZERO flavor. They charge a lot of money for this (I Paid $50+ for this). When I say there was NO seasoning on this Brisket I mean it tasted like all they did was take it out of the wrapping and put it in an oven.I expect MUUUUUUUCH better results when I’m eating out. Especially at an establishment with the prices they have. I was tremendously disappointed.

I am a student at UNC Chapel Hill, and when my mom visited town we ordered City BBQ. The meat was amazing their pulled pork was so juicy and tender! The swine wine sauce was the best barbecue sauce we had ever had. After eating our first order we ordered two more pounds of meat to have for the rest of the week! The chocolate cake was divine! Definitely will become a regular staple!
I was surprised to find this is not a NC original. The BBQ is truly great, the smell hits you when you walk in the door! A variety of meals, & a variety of sauces to please everyone. Be sure to try the Banana Pudding, it's not just banana flavored gelatin with vanilla wafers. It's real banana pudding, just like Mom used to make!I will be a repeat customer!

I go to City Barbecue in many cities. The Durham, NC is by far the Best thanks to Jeff. The Man Really knows his meat. I come here at least 10 times a year.Everything is consistent. The restaurant is clean employees are supernice. This should be a training restaurant.

First time ordering from City BBQ in a long while. In fact it’s probably my first time ordering food from the restaurant this year. Upon walking in, I noticed that there were all new staff, none of the regulars that were there when I frequented the restaurant prior to the start of the new year. While the chicken was very good, the mac’n cheese was horrible and can’t possibly be the same recipe previously used…. It can’t be!! The mac’n cheese I got today lacked flavor and had more of a pasty/milky taste with cheese mixed in…. Yuck! I’ve ordered enough of this food item to know that this recipe is not the same. I’m all set, no more mac’n cheese from City BBQ.
Only eat here at noon as the service and quality go downhill fast. It's hit or miss for this place.

We met some friends there for dinner. They wanted some good ole country food. This was my first time eating and I can say that I was not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious. I shared the city plaza with my friend. I am not a turkey fan, but the turkey was delicious. The barbeque was seasoned to perfection. I didn't even put any sauce on it. Everything was made to order so everything was hot out of the pot, exactly how I like it. If you want some great food and a good variety of it, I thoroughly recommend City Barbeque. You won't be disappointed!

Absolutely the best BBQ around well worth the drive depending on where you live. Price's may be a little high it's definitely worth it if you like good BBQ.Parking: Plenty of parking if you don't want to dine in you can use there app and when you arrive let them know you're there and they will bring the food out to you.Kid-friendliness: Extremely kid friendly. Plenty of food choices for the little ones yummy ?Wheelchair accessibility: Very much so not a single staircase in the place. Doors plenty wide for wheelchairs. However the doors are not automatic. I guess that would be the only downfall.
