Hands down the best restaurant that I have tried thus far in Durham NC! The service was phenomenal and the food was delicious! I even met some of Hope Valley Diner’s long term customers who have been eating lunch & dinner at this restaurant multiple days a week. I will now be another returning customer, that is for sure!

I was really nervous about wedding catering. I've had so much OK wedding food and I thought that maybe that's just how it was with catering large events. NOPE. Not true. Y'all Sage & Swift knocked it out of the park. We have gotten so many compliments on the food and it is well deserved. At the tasting, I had brought up that I love Steamed Pork Buns and they were like "Oh, we can do that". They were the star of the show. Oh my god. Now I'm thinking about them...Anyways, yeah hire Sage & Swift. The wait staff was great too!

Sage & Swift did a wonderful job catering our wedding. In a world filled with wedding catering that is indistinguishable from overpriced Panera, Sage & Swift curated the perfect menu for our day and knocked it out the park with their execution. From the tasting to our wedding day, they were super responsive and on top of everything. Many caterers will just present you with a big menu of things to choose from and that's it, but Sage & Swift was not like this. They're only cooking with quality, in-season ingredients and it felt less like we were just picking food and more like we were collaborating to put out an awesome menu. Their service staff was great too. All of our guests had nothing but great things to say about all of the food, which is exactly what we were hoping for.

We ordered from Sage and Swift for our Thanksgiving dinner as we were coming in from out of town to visit family. We ordered ahead of time, an easy and quick process, and when we picked everything up the staff was incredibly kind a helpful. Our dinner was so delicious. Everyone enjoyed every single thing we ordered. Our turkey was perfectly seasoned and so good, not at all dry. The beef tenderloin was one of the best cooked pieces of beef we’ve all had. It literally melted in your mouth like butter. I highly recommend ordering from here. We were not disappointed!

The diner shut down for about a month for renovations and the end product is outstanding. The new old fashioned ceiling is awesome as are all the seating and lighting. The new bar is L shaped rather than just a peninsula so there is much more room there for bar seating. While we generally get takeout orders, today we stopped by to share a big breakfast of bacon (nice and crisp), eggs, hash browns, and sourdough toast. They were very busy so I took a while to get served, but everything was good. A big bonus since the renovation is that they now have my favorite pernicious beer (didn't have it with breakfast), which is nice to have while waiting for take out orders. It is unfortunate that they only offer their dinner menu after 5 o'clock. We like to eat early, so that means we have to order off the lunch menu. This is not a huge problem because the chicken salad and the salad and the salmon are always there and are always great. If you are getting a takeout, be sure to check your order. Too many times items are missing or not as ordered (they need to work on this). All employees were wearing masks.

I would like to say my meatloaf that I had was very good . My wife had meatloaf also and felt the same way that it was very good . We both had string beans and mashed potatoes with gravy . All of it was delicious for both of us . Then we we had desert oh my, my wife had lemon pie she said was so good and tasty . I had the pecan pie it was great tasting. The waitress and staff were excellent and we were sitting outside.

order a fried chicken sandwich on 08/19/2021, order was to go and did not check the bag before I left the restaurant because I have had good quality food in the past. This time was horrible the chicken breast was hard and so small of a piece, it was half of a half breast. it was so rubbery as if it had been sitting out for awhile. spoke with someone in restaurant next day and after telling the person what happen he ask what did I want him to do and I stated nothing, just reporting my experience and after that he apologize for what happened. He did not automatically offer to refund my money. very disappointed customer. KC

I enjoyed eating at Watts Grocery, and drove from Chatham, VA just to eat there. I ordered my Thanksgiving meal from Sage & Swift. It was delicious, and I am shortly going to pick up my meal for Xmas.

I just had the worst experience at Hope Valley diner. The quote manager dude was disrespectful and rude. He was very irritated and snappy with me as if I was bothering him because my order was not up to par. The steamed shrimp was overcooked and tough. I called back for a fresh order and got home with the same bad tasting shrimp. I will not be going to this restaurant until they fire the manager and learn to treat their customers of color with care and respect.
