They have an amazing brunch! Super gluten-free friendly, delicious food, great atmosphere, and the nicest staff. I have Celiac’s and Lavina was so kind and helpful, answering all my questions and making sure our whole group had a fantastic brunch. Can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely love this place! Went for brunch with friends recently, and our server Lavinia was so lovely and incredibly accommodating. And, not to mention, the food annd cocktails are always out of this world. If you’re downtown, you must visit!!

This was our first visit to Indian Monsoon and it exceeded any expectations we could've had. They had many signs outside pointing us to a side door and could see that construction was being done on their front door. In spite of this, the atmosphere was great - spacious, with great views of a bustling Durham through their window wall. They brought us papadums with a tamarind and a mint cilantro sauce, both delicious. We ordered Lamb Tikka Masala and Malai Kofta, the moment I saw the cream and orchid on the lush tikka, and the micro greens and cilantro oil(?) on the kofta, I knew we were in for a special dinner. Everything was so delicious, and I've had Indian food in London many times. We were blown away by how good the food was. The service was top notch as well. Lavina and the other staff were incredibly friendly with amazing smiles. Unbeknownst to us, they kindly played along in a secret plot with my brother who called ahead to the restaurant to take care of our bill and order a special dessert for us. Lavina expertly, covertly confirmed we were the couple to look out for. She brought out a dessert that completely surprised and delighted us then wished us well, told us the bill was paid, and presented us with a giant chai mug from the restaurant as a gift. What a sweetheart she is! Great service, easy parking on the street outside the restaurant, amazing food! Indian Monsoon is some kind of hidden gem downtown.Parking: Free on weekends

Under construction so not counting that against them. Good for people who like Indian food that tastes made to order and quite a few options for those with dietary restrictions

I absolutely love the Indian Monsoon restaurant in Durham. The food and service are top notch. Extra stars and accolades for the ambiance and plate presentation. Servings are plentiful and make sharing easy. Prices are very reasonable for a fine dining experience. I especially like the mulagtwani soup. Lavina, the hostess is a delight. Let's make an effort to keep this gem of a restaurant alive.

Really great food! We enjoyed the Paneer Makhani and Lasooni Palak. I also ordered the Tandoori Chicken. We enjoyed our meal, loved the atmosphere, and the service was great. My only complaint was I wish the Tandoori Chicken came with more chicken - there were only 4 chicken wings for $17. Other than that, I would recommend.

Had the best Indian culinary experience in the RTP thus far. Lavina was an amazing influence throughout the night. The Kaminee cocktail was a hit! We were told it’s the Indian version of a Long Island cocktail but even better as the Indian Shiraz wine floats atop. The Lamb Rogan Josh for me was a massive flavor bomb with the grill mix! To die for. Great spot for a spontaneous date night or something to look forward to for lunch! Thank you Lavina and Monsoon for a flavorful escapade!

Had a reservation on a Monday evening. It was empty when we arrived but filled up by the time we were leaving! The food was delicious and big portions! The Malai Kofta was so yummy! I had it made mild and it had a nice kick to it. I also had a house white wine - chenin blanc which was also good! Service was a bit on the slower side. Our food came out quickly but it took a bit to get our orders and for a second round of drinks.
