Nice and quaint! Our server was Kerry, I think that is his name but he was great! We will definitely go back especially for their brunch! I had the fish and grits (blue corn), while my husband had the lamb Shank! Two thumbs up!PS. The tomato gravy was solid!

This place was so quaint! The service was excellent, and it was immaculate. On the other side of the restaurant, behind the cook’s station, was a cool bar (I didn’t grab a pic of it). The food was delicious. It was pricey for a family dinner but I would absolutely go back with a few friends for a celebration of some kind. That’s my 2¢. Now you go decide ✨

Service was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food just was not good. At all! The saving grace was the crullers for dessert. The wings were so salty they burned my tongue. The pouting fries were soggy and the cheese curds were flavorless. The gravy was good but used excessively in the dish. Crullers..... were to die for. I have heard their brunch is good. I will go back and try because the staff was so nice

We had mimosa, cheeseburger, pancake, crullers and omeletes. Everyting was tasty and well prepared. Crullers are home made hot fluffy and to die for. Our server , Raven was great and we ate outside. A perfect brunch....

I am in Durham for the Thanksgiving Holiday. My family suggested we come here for a late breakfast/lunch. It was so good — loved the overall atmosphere and the service was very helpful and friendly! Very nice experience!

Service was really good, food looked good but was terrible. And options are pretty limited.

Great location, vibe, and staff. The food is just ok. Not memorable, nor didanything have us saying to each other, ‘You gotta try this.” The Doughnuts werenice. But my Fried Fish and Grits (not really grits) needed some help in the flavordepartment. The pancakes were heavy, and the burger was overcooked blah. Itwas a Saturday morning rush, so perhaps that didn’t help. And our server was abit fluttered. I probably won’t go back with so many other brunch options.

This is a fave for brunch both times I've visited Durham. Good food, unique dishes, yummy brunch drinks. Great service. Definitely a place to eat when you're in town.

Stopped in on a rainy Saturday night. The Scandinavian diner feel is cool. The food was amazing. The chicken fried cauliflower was amazing. We wanted to take a little home to have our kids try (who isn't looking for ways to get their kids to eat vegetables) but I couldn't stop eating them no matter how hard I tried. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich which was amazing. It was a balance of salty, savory, and a little sweetness with the fresh pickles. It was delicious (I nabbed a bite too). I ordered the strip steak and fries. Steak was cooked well and the glazed gravy was a nice touch plus it made the fries even better. We're definitely coming back!

The food is always tasty. The menu changes sometime but they keep the best sellers on. The dessert selection is always sick. They sit them on the counter for extra pressure to buy one.lol my top 5 in durham spots.

Excellent outdoor seating available here. Menu isn't the most diverse, but what they do they do well. We had the poutine, duck wings, chicken sandwich and pork chop. All were prepared well, served with attention and sincerity. The poutine was NC good, but does not rival the poutine available closer to Canada (as expected). The duck wings are an interesting and more gamey take on chicken wings, and were tasty and well seasoned/cooked. The chicken sandwich was fried to perfection and well seasoned. The Mac n Cheese was tasty, if a little under seasoned. The pork chop was prepared well, and had a nice smoky flavor. All in all a good meal. We'll be back.

Wonderful food and gracious service! We were looking for something fun to do and made our way to downtown Durham for the evening. We ran across Jack Tar and the Colonel’s Daughter and they were able to seat our party of 4 at the bar right away on busy Saturday evening. It turned out great! We enjoyed watching all of the lovely dishes coming together. The menu is small but mighty- we all enjoyed our dinners- the pork chop, schezuan hot chicken, and double cheeseburger all got 2 thumbs up! And the hush puppy appetizer was great, as well!

Great place for brunch. If you go with a group, be sure to try the homemade crullers. You really can't mess with anything on the menu. Just know they are super busy and low on staff. Your food will come quickly but you won't see a server very often. The cocktail menu has some unique twists on favorites.

Excellent food! The location was in a nice spot in downtown Durham which is always a good thing. Most importantly, the food was excellent! I had the Mother and Child reunion for brunch and it was incredible! It was kind of like an eggs benedict but with biscuits and a giant piece of fried chicken (which was the best I've had in a long time!) and it was fantastic! I didn't expect to go here for brunch but I'm glad I came in.
