This place is great!!I ordered the cajun shrimp & Grits. The shrimp were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I did have to add a pinch of salt to the grits, being originally from Louisiana the salt and seasoning is important. I say this because others may not need salt. But the flavor was great.I ordered the eggs ? over easy with pork sausage patties, collard greens, and the waffle. The eggs ? ? were cooked perfectly. The collard greens were good as well. The sausage patties were great. The waffle was a bit too cakey, thick, and rubbery for my liking.The mac n cheese ? was amazing. The cheesy grits were amazing. After reading several reviews, I ordered the French Toast. Yes, it was great!! This will be my go-to for French Toast! (They serve 3 per entree)I am also adding a pic of the shrimp "po-boy" sandwich I ordered the first time I visited this eatery.....very good!

The French toast was hard on the outside and mushy inside. I couldn't chew it. The shrimp were rubbery in the grits and the grits were way too salty.

I was in this location on 2/17. We placed our order at 10:11 am and didn't receive it until 10:59. There was no apology for the delay. Also, the smoke detectors were constantly chirping, which is what they were doing the last time I was in this establishment(almost a year ago).

Although I don't have any pictures.....that food was very good. I ordered fish and grits. The fish was nice and fried well and the grits were very creamy. The only thing it was a little salty but not overly salty. I really enjoyed my meal and will return again.

Whenever I try a new place, whatever I order, I like to try each component separately. Today was Shrimp and grits at Nzinga's Kitchen in Durham.Shrimp seasoned like love! Hot, a lil spicy but not too crazy. Perfectly cooked. And im picky about shrimp. Grits.... cajun... cheezy... creamy... hot! Sooo good!!!!!!Tried them both in one bite...magic! Its like a buttery cheesy delicious explosion! I wanted to stuff my mouth but i couldnt...it was hot! To say I was pleased with the service and food would be an understatement. I will be back!Right now they have a special on shrimp and grits. 1/2 off. Go before its over! And go early, they close at 6pm!Customer service was very good as well. I love when employees love the food and make recommendations with excitement. Don't sleep on Nzingas Kitchen
