Either Mally is a culinary genius or Iranian food is what I’ve been craving all my life. (Or both!) Everything she makes is intensely flavorful, thoroughly nutritious, and warms the soul. Her hole-in-the-wall location has zero ambiance and really isn’t an eat-in venue, but Mally herself has a gracious & welcoming presence as she chitchats & prepares these delights. I’ve lived all over the world and enjoyed many cuisines; these are unique and among my favorites.Parking: Small parking lot

Pomegranate cheesecake was delicious. We would have ordered more but were stuffed from eating next door prior. The delicious aromas had us stop

I ordered one lamb shank and side of a bean rice for $52. No server brings the food, food quality is very poor, nothing was fresh, food was so old that smelled. stuffy and filthy place, very dirty. plastic set and you bring your food to the table yet they dare to charge like a 5 star steakhouse. Overall order was $84. I just want the owner knows, just because we were visitors doesn’t mean she has to charge us triple of what a good restaurant in San Francisco charges. Shame

Persian flavors and Mally are the reasons to visit this out-of-way kitchen. My wife and I stopped in for lunch while looking at another nearby shop. We were greeted warmly by David, the assistant, and he explained each of the available dishes on the trays stacked on the shelving unit. We chose pirashkis, flaky dough filled with meats or veggies, and plenty of yummy spices. Our two favorites were the tomato and the chicken and sausages. Mally, the owner and top chef, engaged us in conversation that felt like we were welcome guests in her home, specifically the kitchen. Mally gave us a plate of fresh greens from her garden complete with edible Nasturtium flowers. Very limited seating was available inside and the breezeway outside had a number of tables where we enjoyed our food and a cool breeze. After our lunch, we walked back to the kitchen to tell Mally how delicious everything tasted and I picked up a baklava to go. Tasty walnut and honey in layered philo dough was a great finish lunch. This woman-owned small business is worth supporting, IMO, for all the reasons above. Additional Note: Rice and stew options are available as noted by other Yelpers.

The food is very tasty and vegan and gluten free by default. You can also add meat if you want to. The service is great and the owner is very nice and welcoming. Definitely suggest this place to anyone who is in the area around lunch time.

The best vegetarian food I’ve had in a very long time. So incredibly flavorful and delicious. I bought the herb stew and rice from the owner/chef at the chapel hill farmers market and can’t wait to try more entrees from the storefront.

Highly overpriced! $22.50 for rice and a sauce and then around $3 if paying by card… sure the owner is really nice…but this is unreasonable pricing for take out at lunch.

Delicious savory Persian food run by a single lady who could be your mother. Menu varies by day. I'm eating my way through the menu and it's all been excellent.Vegetarian options: Every dish is vegetarian. You have to pay extra to add meatballs.

I went here for the first time today and the owner/chef, Mally, was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. She cooks authentic Persian food and everything I had was absolutely delicious- I highly recommend the pomegranate stew! The flavors of everything I had were exquisite. I can't wait to go back and try new items; she has something for everyone here (vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters alike)

Amazing food, the pomegranate stew was my favorite & my girlfriend loved the smoked eggplant. Both come with spiced rices, with the tadig crust. Delicious!

I can't rave about this place enough! I'm Iranian and have tried dozens of Iranian restaurants in California and in the States generally, and this is definitely one of the best Iranian restaurants I've tried. Mally's food is delectable, complex, and so well done. You can tell her ingredients are high quality and fresh by the quality and taste of the food, though rich and flavorful, it's not heavy! I feel at home because of her food and her warmth :)
