The food and service was great but I went there as a musician to listen and participate in the blues jam. I showed up an hour early and got there before the other musicians and signed up to play. Three sets in all three people who played my particular instrument were musicians who arrived after I did. Open jam etiquette is to let people perform in the order that they sign up. This curtesy was ignored and made for a disappointing evening.

Open mic on Wednesday nights at the Blue Note Grill is the hottest spot in the Triangle for grown-up folks! Awesome job Brett Chambers and The Usual Suspects. The wait staff is overwhelmed but most of them do their best to handle the large, thirsty crowd. But, if you can get past the rudest, nastiest woman at the front desk, the music and dancing make up for average food and adequate service.

Eating the ribs at The Blue Note Grill will make an atheist believe in God. This is a fact. The beans and cole slaw were both exceptional. I am convinced the hushpuppies were made by actual angels. The fried okra was solid. Our server said that is their most popular side item. The banana pudding poke cake looked amazing, but I was stuffed to the gills. The atmosphere was kinda funky and laid-back. I plan to come back soon for some live music and to explore more menu items. Many many many more menu items. Do yourself a favor and visit The Blue Note. I took half a rack of ribs home and they were delicious the next day.Parking: We were there a little early on a Saturday and parked very close to the restaurant.
Live musicians were great, and the Catfish Po'Boy is to die for.

Drove from Wake Forest to see a band here Friday night . The band was awesome . Very friendly people there . Emily waited on us . She was attentive, friendly and a great personality. She was very busy but you would never know it . We will be back .
Fun... fun... FUN is to be had at the Blue Note Grill on Wednesday night's jam session & open mic! Folks are dancing, eating & sipping and having a fantastic time! Check it out & enjoy a night full of fun & great live music that covers several genres! We had a fabulous time hanging out on a school night!!?????????~Cassandra Nadirah Simmons

We'd heard so many good things about the Blue Note and were excited to finally try it this past weekend (Saturday, 1/20). Wow. To say it was a disappointment would be a massive understatement. First, it's not really a restaurant on the weekends when they have live music. It's mostly a bar atmosphere once the band starts playing. We got there at 7:30, asked if they were still serving dinner and were told yes, they were, on the heated patio outside. We were ok with that and told them we'd wait the est. 30-minute wait time for a table. That turned into 45, but ok. Not a big deal. Finally got our table on the freezing patio, and that's when the fun started. 10-minute wait to be greeted by the server; 10 more minutes to get our drinks and place our order, and then an entire hour - actually 1:04 - to get our food. And the server only came out one time in that entire hour, mumbling something about how we'd been forgotten because she had to help "feed the Duke basketball team." What?! "Now they're finally making your food," she grumbled. She disappeared again for 16 more minutes before the food finally arrived. And I'd love to tell you it was worth the wait, but it was anything but: dry pulled pork, mediocre slaw, strangely gritty French fries, cold hush puppies. Never again, Blue Note.
