Just went for drinks... view was meh, cocktails were just okay. Expected a bit more sophistication but I was more of a dive bar feel, which isn't bad if you have dive bar prices.

We visited for my wife's birthday. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The service was very good. We brought a bottle of wine as the wine selection is not great, but they have a reasonable corkage fee. The bartender decanted the wine for us as soon as we were seated - nice touch. All of our food selections were great - the poached pear salad, grape leaves, duck appetizer, and the coffee rubbed ribeye. The steak was perfectly cooked and high quality meat. It should be for the $$$. Dessert was nice too, but limited selections. Overall a lovely evening.

We had such a great experience at The Restaurant at the Durham Hotel - our waiter was phenomenal, food was great - could have been slightly hotter, and we were out in plenty of time to see our show at DPAC.

When my daughter was researching cool places to stay in Durham before we attending a concert, this was the top of her list. Very retro and comfy. I was surprised they used the same seating area for the coffee bar and the restaurant, but when we arrived for our reservation, it was very natural. Great seating, lighting and the service Alex gave us was superb.

Was very excited to have a lovely meal here, and while everything was technically edible it was incredibly disappointing. Service was good, very friendly and while not the most attentive that wasn't the issue. The food itself was bland, out of season (so poor quality), overcooked, and cold. I see great potential but whoever let that food leave the pass needs to be trained better.

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The food, the service, the ambiance. Also loved grabbing a nightcap at the rooftop bar that had cozy blankets for sitting on the chilly deck while stargazing. Loved that special touch. Highly recommend.

Food, drinks, and atmosphere were amazing, but service was very inattentive. We sat at our table for 15 minutes just for a hostess to come over, greet us, and give us some water, and then waited another 15 minutes for our waiter to show up. Food took forever to come out and we only saw the waiter 2 more times in our visit. This was our 1st time here for brunch and we even had reservations. Would definitely go again, maybe it was just an off day for the wait staff.

We went here before a show (where they do have a limited "show" menu - but we opted for a full menu). Our server was the nicest lady ever. She moved us from a corner booth to a table that was more comfortable for me. The food and drinks were really good (amazing mocktails). Between us we ordered the Caesar, burger, and tagliatelle. The Tagliatelle was the star for me... it was SO good. Burger and fries were delicious too (great fries and ranch). The Caesar was good but had a lot of froofy lettuce (just give me romaine in a Caesar). Our server even got us a dessert in a to-go box to make sure we had enough time to get to our show. We will definitely be back!

The menu was a bit underwhelming; I ordered the pork chop and while the saucing was tasty, the chop itself was kind of dry. My wife ordered the Local Farmer's Salad, without noticing the "hot honey vinaigrette" dressing reference in the menu. She's not a fan of spicy food. However, our waiter graciously offered a second salad with different dressing on the side (I liked the salad). She did enjoy the tomato chicken soup. The rest of the food was quite good, and our service was excellent. The restaurant seems to be more vegetarian-focused. One other thing - we were seated in an upholstered banquette (a semi-circle). The upholstery was kind of soft and wimpy; we felt like we needed a booster seat! The table came up to my chest (I'm normal height).

Food was excellent. Tasted amazing. Service was great and they even asked if we had a show to catch or were on a time restriction. Only thing I say was portions were as big as hoped, but we would go back for sure.

Food was excellent! Service was fantastic!! Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. We have never had a bad experience at The Durham.

We've been before and we'll go again. We were a party of four. The hotel is easy to get to, and parking is very convenient. Attractive. Nice and attentive staff. Excellent service. Delicious food - we each had something different. It's lively in terms of noise so for us we prefer a table for four with two across from two, rather than a semicircular booth. The location is also convenient to the DPAC. It's an easy walk from the hotel to the DPAC.

An enjoyable experience that doesn't much over time. The dining room can feel a little bit cavernous at times, leaving you trying to find a tucked away table that doesn't exist. Food quality, but would benefit from some fresh life and periodic changes.

I truly enjoyed my first experience at “The Restaurant” at the Durham hotel. The staff was courteous and attentive, and the food was delicious. I will definitely return and recommend the location to my friends and family going forward.

The ambience in this Modernist style building is wonderful. The two story restaurant area is airy, bright and retro modern. The server tried his best but he was not very experienced. There was another male employee walking around with a stocking cap on and a grungy looking denim jacket - he did project a cool vibe. The lady who appeared to be the manager was very professional and friendly. Our brunch items were fine but nothing to talk about. The eggs on the avocado toast were runny when we had asked for "hard eggs" I would return but my expectations are not very high at this time.
