I travel to gastonia frequently and wanted to try a new spot. Ordered a poboy with onion ring to go. Didn't have to wait to long. I was surprised at the sizing and how much flavor the food had. I'll try to eat in the next time I come and have some adult beverages with my meal.

Update: it's only been a week, but I wanted to try it again. Had the Cheesin Steak this time and spouse had the Cheeseburger. Food was awesome, per usual.Service was top notch this time. Servers asked multiple times if anything was needed. We got napkins lol.I bumped up my review to 5 stars.I think this is my new favorite local place. :)---------------------------------------------The new location is a bit strange, though I guess it's a big improvement if you consider the old location. The interior is gorgeous. Eclectic, colorful, nice artwork.Ordering is right when you walk in, which is a little abrupt if you have no idea what's on the menu. But their menu isn't real big, so it wasn't a big deal. I only realized later that adding a tip to the purchase at the beginning, might not be the best thing...Drinks came out pretty quickly. The food came out a little later. One thing the server said was- oh I'll get you napkins. The food was awesome. Both myself and my spouse had very tasty food...but without anything to wipe our hands on, I stopped eating as things got messy fast. The server forgot about us. Not that she wasn't busy. I tried to give her time and then tried to flag her down. Our drinks got empty too. There was another server, but she seemed busy cleaning tables. Towards the end, we were able to get the server's attention and basically got drinks to go and a to-go container. So although the food was excellent, the lack of napkins/drinks made the experience a little lacking. My recommendation- have napkins at the table in a dispenser or paper towels in a paper towel holder or make sure the server has napkins available when grabbing food to take out. I saw her deliver food and go back to get napkins for multiple tables. That walking back and forth seems wasteful in time. And that said, we will definitely be back and I hope to bump my score up to 5 stars. I'm anxious to taste other things on the menu. Also- this place would be ideal as an anchor to some small town or somewhere with a view. I could definitely see relaxing outside in a nice location, eating their food. Here's hoping for future success and expansion for this place!

Fried mushrooms too spicy. French fries amazing. I dont know what it is but why in the US noone season burger patty? I wish it had some salt at least. Other than that food is pretty good and fresh. Service good and fast. Inside of the restaurant is too dark for me. I wish there were more windows. Thats all ? I heard they use to have breakfast...bring it back if you can.

Great food I do miss the variety of burgers that used to be on the menu when they used to be located on 321.
As a family of 5, the food was “ok” but definitely not worth what we paid, our bill was $76, for lunch. Sides are not included , and portion sizes of sides are very small. A hot dog (plain) was $6. We were looking forward to this and we are disappointed. To each their own - not my kind, just my opinion.

They've been working hard to get this place open in the new location and it's awesome. I've seen people complain about prices, but I don't think they realize how much stuff has gone up since groovy beast was at the old location. I think the prices are fair, food is excellent, and great selection of local beers on tap. Also, I saw someone complain about the cheese steak not having real cheese... it literally says cheese sauce in the description, and that's how a proper cheese steak is served in Philly... with cheese sauce.I recommend the fried mushrooms... only place you can get them this good in town.
Everyone was very nice and the service was outstanding! Food was good but too many fried things on the menu for me and food was very salty. Jovial atmosphere but very loud and hard to carry a conversation.

So happy groovy beast is back! Our food was delicious and portions were reasonable. It is a bummer that sides are separate from entrees, which unfortunately adds up when eating out as a family. However, I understand inflation has affected us all, including restaurants! We got the garden salad with strawberry vinaigrette, kids tenders, BBQ tossed tenders, a beer and a margarita The salad was delicious with a house made dressing and a generous serving of juicy grilled chicken tenders. My couldn’t stop raving about the fried tenders and said he has to go back to get more over and over before he had even finished eating! Lastly, my husbands tossed BBQ were tasty and he said the sauce was great! All in all, a good meal, albeit on the more expensive side of casual dining. I’m sure we will be back soon!Ps, please bring back breakfast!!!Parking: Easy parking and plenty of spotsKid-friendliness: We felt comfortable there with our young children
