When the server told me there were absolutely no gluten free options, I was shocked and asked her to double check. She came back and said yes, she confirmed with her manager- no GF options at all. Even the build your own salad? I asked...her dumbfounded blinking stare was the answer I needed.I'm really glad this restaurant refused to even try to help me because I went to the Groovy Beast down the street and it was PHENOMENAL! So thank you Hickory Tavern for the forced introduction to a new amazing restaurant- I look forward to never seeing you again.

This was our first visit to the Gastonia location, but we hadn't been (Charlotte) in about ten years. The food was delicious. My only issue was that the Power Bowl salad with the added "Blackened Tuna" option was actually Ahi Tuna, and I was not informed by our server. Nor was I asked by the waitress what temperature I wanted it cooked. That would have given me a clue ... It came to me raw. I'm going thru chemo at the moment, so raw seafood is a 100% no-go. Soooo back to the kitchen it went. Sadly. However, the well-done version that returned was delicious. My hubby said the Nachos were very good. (It's one of his favorite items to order). We bought 10 gift cards, so I guess we'll be returning! Alyssa was very attentive and friendly. We'll be requesting her in the future.
Great for casual dining with friends. Our server Korri was great! She made our experience so fun. Will definitely ask for her when we go back!

Food was better than the last time I visited last year on this day..last time I had wood in my cedar plank salmon and it had no flavor among other dishes..I was shocked that my daughter wanted to revisit today for her birthday..and I must say y’all shocked the hell out of me..everything that was ordered no one had any complaints..except a gristle from something in the shrimp and grits..imagine that..but other than that y’all good with me

Almost received at least 3 stars. However, this was the second time at this location, and it was just as bad. The best here is still just mediocre. We asked for two orders of tacos. It was 6:30 on a Friday night and the restaurant wasn't half full. It took an hour to get our cold tacos. We only saw our server when we ordered and when the check was brought. No one check on us and the food was brought out by someone from the kitchen staff that just sat down our food and walked away. Everybody has a bad night but they had two in a row with us.

Everything was really good. Our server was nice but very slow and forgetful.
We went there to watch a football game and get some drinks/appetizers. It was fairly busy but Korri was fantastic!

Our first experience was such a delight! Korri was our waitress and was so helpful with navigating the options. Korri had many recommendations. We started off with the POW POW shrimp! The Diablo burger was THE BEST burger I’ve had. Don’t forget the Brussel sprouts as a side! The environment was quiet yet interactive in the music choices that everyone would know. I nearly danced through my meal! I will definitely be back.
