It's always a pleasant experience going to Yamatos. The owner always interacts with the customers and he's super nice. Hate they don't have help to open inside, but it's still the best Japanese restaurant to eat at.Definitely my go to when I want Japanese food.I'd give them 10+ stars

**They charge your card twice and will not refund you!!** Worst experience I’ve had with this restaurant. I’ve been eating here since they opened and have never had an issue until yesterday (12-01-2023). I’ve read other reviews of this situation happening to people who have bought food here, saying to only pay with cash and not card, and I thought it was a bunch of croc because I’ve ALWAYS had great and quick customer service. All of our food was undercooked, no sanitary practices, and very rude and argumentative owners not seeming to want to correct the issue. They also tried to yank my receipt away from me so I wouldn’t have proof of them charging me twice. Needless to say, I will no longer be returning as a loyal customer.

We eat here once every other month we have always enjoyed the food.. however this last visit gave us food poisoning Two of us had chicken, And I had the veggies plate . The two that had the chicken was extremely sick a few hours later... sucks this happened cuz we always liked the food. But lesson learned and won't be going

Canes Fan

After consuming a plate of "food" from this place last night hell opened up in my stomach. I had to strap myself to the toilet because the force of the diarrhea was so strong. I ended up laying on the cold bathroom floor for a few hours to get some sort of relief but round 2 came in and I was not prepared. I'm going to have to install new everything in my bathroom because it's a horror show. Thanks yamatos.

The man swiped my cash app card 3 times… the first payment clearly went through because it notifies you on everything.. I tried to show him but he slammed the window in my face and wouldn’t return my card… knowing I haven’t made it that far in life… after 10 minutes of waiting at the window I decided to pull off and report the card stolen, dispute etc given he wouldn’t listen nor give my food etc it was either that or jail time so I took the high road.. please do yourself a favor and “shop black” no respect at all whatsoever but in a predominantly black neighborhood… make it make sense ( when will sake express fix their building?!) better food & service hands down… stay away from this place

Terrible service after paying for food they told me my card was declined which i had more than sufficient funds and i showed the owner where yamatos had taken out funds at 6:15pm and my personal account but refused to serve my order. I used to love Yamatos but the older male has lost a good customer never again will they see another doller from me.PLEASE SAKE EXPRESS COME BACK!!!

The customer service is below sub-par and they have no concern for allergies. Went and requested a plate and expressed I have a mushroom allergy and the cashier still allowed my food to be cooked in the same spot mushrooms were prepared without cleaning it first. I requested that the food was cooked on a separate grill and was told that wasn’t possible. As she was telling me this I see food being placed on a clean unused grill. Needless to say I will not be returning and if you have food allergies I suggest you don’t either. They are reckless and unconcerned about allergies and the repercussions of improper food safety.

So I have been waiting and waiting on this place to reopen because me and my daughter loves this place well tomorrow is my birthday and I’m at work I called and placed a order and super excited because they was back open well my nephew went and picked up our food we are at work also and I open my plate and it was the wrong food I was super bummed I called and went back down there even took the wrong food back they trashed the wrong food they gave me they didn’t offer a tea refund nothing at all I think I will just be going somewhere else I mean come on now gas is 3.39 a gallon and they got my food wrong thank you for messing up my pre birthday dinner with my nephew
