I was very pleased and will be back. Nice even smoke ring on the brisket with a nice bark. Nice layer of fat, and the meat just fell apart. It had just the right amount of flavor, not overwhelmed with smoke. Sauce was a bit different, I think I detected a maple syrup flavor in it? Not bad, not great... Different, will be back to try again. Mac and cheese was pretty good and so were the baked beans. I usually judge a place by it's banana pudding and it's mac and cheese. Both were high on my list. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back.

Went here the other day for the first time with a friend of mine, I got a bbq plate with fries and Mac&Cheese. It looked really good but everything except the fries were cold and I don't know how you mess up mac&cheese but it was so awful I literally gagged eating it. But it looked amazing. The fries were really good and probably the best thing I had there.

Best bang for your buck in brisket, bbq, turkey, chicken and other options. There's something for everyone at this restaurant. Scott has taken his business to another level and makes you feel right at home inside. Speaks with all customers and makes sure your order is correct.

While in Goldsboro I decided to have lunch at Adams Downtown BBQ as the area is known for the bbq. Service was very friendly and helpful with ordering but the food was not so good but no service after the food was brought out. I would have liked a refill on my lemonade. I ordered the pulled pork plate and that came with two sides. I went with baked beans and mac no cheese. The food was cold with some warm spots with the pork and mac 'n cheese. I'm not sure if was reheated and or just wasn't brought out out while warm. I wouldn't return again.

Good food but the brisket was way too fatty.

Came here for delicious brisket and that what I got! The food flavors are on point and is the best brisket I've had in this area. However, I think their expansion from roadside to downtown sit down restaurant still has a roadside bbq mentality. Not much for table service here, no refills, no check ups, and no real table set up (bbq sauces, real silverware,l) So while our food tasted great l, it was not hot nor well kept. I understand that slow cooked bbq is not made to order but I also understand how pit bbq places keep their food hot and fresh. Sadly this is not the case here with the meats or sides. But again, all the flavor was there. My family decided this would be a better carry out than sit down place for us, placing it back in the roadside category for our patronage.

The food tasted great once it finally got to us. They brought my husband's out first and he ate his meal before mine came. Mine was cold, so not exactly a good experience. The young girl at the register just seemed to be miserable!

My family and I really enjoyed this place. Great BBQ! We would definitely go again. The only thing we found that we didn't enjoy 100% was the cornbread fries, they were just a little dry. But seriously the beans were great, the brisket was great and the sweet tea is as southern as it gets!

They load the barbecue sandwiches! I have problems eating a lot, so I treat my dog with a bit of it, and she loves it as much as I do! Customer service is tpop of the line also.

Visited at lunch time. Only 5 customers in the business. Ordered a large bbq tray and tea. Price was $8.05. When I received the order it was in a small tray half bbq half slaw and 2 cornbread strips. It was more slaw than meat. The food was ok but the portions were less than what I had expected for the price paid. When I said something as I was leaving the lady behind the counter stated it was served by weight. Their scale needs to be calibrated, or slaw has gotten expensive to make. I can see why there were no more customers eating at lunchtime, it was a rip-off! I went up the road to Parker's in Wilson that evening and received a 10" plate full of bbq, a soup bowl full of slaw and 8 of the same kind of cornbread. Had water to drink. Even got a little more slaw (no charge) and I paid $7.50. Well pleased and the place is always full of customers. No more Adams for me!

Good sandwiches, wish they added more sauce to my sandwich though. The portions were huge and delicious though. Will eat here again.
