Over the last couple years this place has really gone downhill. The food is really just not great anymore and they have a clear management problem. Sorry to say that I won't be back and have to find a new nice place for date night.Old review: The fried green tomatoes were amazing. The chicken was great, but a little on the dry side. The truffle fries were also really good, but not heavy on the truffle flavor. The management and ambience were top notch.

7-26-23It's potentially great, but our experience showed some things that need cleaning up as it were.Setting: Barriqe has an elegant interior, with two levels, bars, and a lounge type area on the second level. Well decorated. They do awesome here. Will add that we were under a vent on the second level, and it was extremely cold during our experience.Food: 1)We got the Crispy Burrata to start, and we enjoyed this appetizer. Fried mozzarella with sauce and an excellent version. A reorder. This is where things went sideways a bit...2)We both ordered a filet. It took a smidgen over an hour for these to come out. Mine came out cooked correctly. I was told it came with green beans and was ok with that. I received asparagus. It was good, however, and the steak with blue cheese topping and accompanying mashed potatoes was solid. But, the lady also asked for a medium filet, and hers came out rare. We had to send it back to be cooked further. My meal was finished well before she received hers again. She asked for garlic butter as a topper, and the steak didn't come back with this. I mention this as there is an upcharge for steak toppings. Also, there was an upcharge on the bill for asparagus that was on her meal but not mine. Sloppy all over. We felt the portioning could have been larger for the price.3)The owner apologized and comped us with a dessert because of the snafu on the filet (that still didn't come with the garlic butter that we paid for per our bill). This dessert was the Lava Cookie, and yes yes yes! A baked cookie with a warm chocolate center topped with ice cream was pure bliss.Service: We spent almost 2.5 hours here, and it looked like the entire restaurant was similar in waiting for their meals. While our waitress was good, this hurt our experience.Snapshot: Barrique has an excellent interior setting on both levels. We spent too much time here waiting between courses and overall. Per the price of each item and upcharges, there should be few, if no, errors. The food was solid but didn't blow us away (except for the dessert we were comped). Barriqe has potential as being an awesome addition to Goldsboro, but execution wasn't there. We've been to too many like establishments without issues. Not on our list to return.Parking: Some on the street and some on parking lots within a block.

I have so many wonderful things to say about this restaurant.I decided to plan an event, I had no idea what that entailed... I contacted Barrique and spoke with Ms. Lori (event planner), after our first sit-down conversation, I was more at ease. She gave me suggestions and gave me time to process the information. On the day of the event, I was beyond anxious.Ms. Laurie and her team were prepared and organized.Everything fell into place. The food was amazing.Thank you. Thank you for making my event special for the honoree and the guest.

We waited entirely too long for overdone meat and decent but not mind blowing (and lukewarm for the most part) food for obscene prices. The atmosphere at certain times of the week or during live music performances is likely what draws a crowd, but on the off days there is no rush to please anybody. We've visited three times so far and been disappointed every time. We hope this place improves but we're not rushing back in either.

First time coming and last time going. The food was horrible. My Salad was cook on a grill which I don't get. It was burnt, My brussel sprouts was burned, and then my pork chop meal was burnt as well. The only thing that was good was the wine, water, and the mashed potatoes. We didn't even eat it because it was all burnt. We only got our meal tooking off the ticket. Which it was still a high bill and not only we got charged twice and they took 23.00 for a tip. So you might wanna think twice coming here. It was a waste of time and money. Food is horrible!!!

First of all why I had to make reservations I don't know. Movistar was in there. But service was slow. The food was terrible. Everything was burned badly. The salads and all the food is prepared on a grill who does that. The last said they put the food on the grill and then the oven. It's already burned now you drying it out. I got charged even though everything was terrible. They automatically take out tips. She claim she was giving me a discount but didn't. My card was charged three times. She went in claiming she was taking more off the bill but actually she was taking more money off my card. It's a lie they are robbing you when you use your card. My account still isn't right and I demand my money before I go through the bank and others to get it. I need my money back on my card. I was there Saturday night!! The lady took my name and number but I haven't heard anything from her. I need somebody to contact me as soon as possible because this is ridiculous. My card was charged three times and after that a extra $8 was taken out too. I sat there on the phone with the bank because of this. The owner claim it was a hold but it really wasn't that was a lie and she knows it.

This was a surprise from my wife to bring me here. The place was very nice. But when we order our food the food was burnt. We didn't even eat the food and they still wanted to charged. So the manager only took the entrée off but charged us for the asparagus that we didn't eat. We were charged 79.00 included with a 23.00 tip. Not only that but got charged twice for 79.00! This is not a good place to eat, so don't waste your time coming here. Over charged for nothing.

First date night in nearly a year and so disappointed. Extremely slow service, tables seated after us were served before us, and the place was quieter than I'd expect on a Friday night. They were doing a "new menu" so they had only a few entrees to choose from. Had I known that, I definitely would not have come. Lobster Mac was pitiful and chicken parm (one of the only other options to choose from) would've been better at a chain. Drinks were sub par as well. Waste of $150 (even with a discount offered). I've been waiting to come here for so long and unfortunately won't be back.

I thought on arrival that possibly the restaurant had moved locations. The outside seemed different from a previous visit, and I did not see the name Barrique. I attended a dinner meeting on a night that was closed to the public. There were close to 25 people. Guests were given your choice of salmon, chicken, or steak. The steak was only offered Medium. There were a few of us that asked for medium well but they would not accommodate us. I didn't particularly want chicken but I didn't care for Salmon, so chicken it was. When the waitress brought out the food, I felt it would be nice if she served one table all at once but she kept skipping around to different tables. Maybe she had to do that because that was the way it was presented to her by the chef (All steaks together all salmon together all chicken together). Two plates at a time. When the salad was presented, there were people at the tables that assumed the smallish salad was for them because they had ordered salad, and it was presented towards the center of the table and these individuals ate the whole salad. In reality it was a communal salad. ? I felt this was not served sanitary because it was not served with its own utensils, and guests had used their forks and knives with the bread and butter. This left other people at the table with no salad. I asked for my own salad and was told "I'll see if I can find one for you". Guests had been sitting in the meeting for sometime with our small beverages, but we could not get refills until the end of the meal when guests were getting ready to leave. We did have water glasses. All in all I feel the waitress did a fine job considering she was serving so many people. I felt she could have tried to hide her frustration on her face. The food had a nice presentation. The chicken was just a little on the dry side but had great flavor. If you asked for asparagus you got two pieces, the mashed potatoes were to die for. I was left feeling a little underwhelmed by the amount served. The tea tasted instant as it had a slight semi-gritty texture and may have been since I asked for unsweet tea (forgive me southern people). At the end of the meal I switched to the lemonade, which was rather blah. Maybe ice in it watered it down. Barriques is considered an upscale restaurant in this area. I have been twice now. I have mixed feelings. There is parking on the street and in a lot across the street.

Steak was full of grizzle, 3 spears of asparagus, no dressing on the Ceasar salad. So glad I wasn't paying for this meal as it was a promotional seminar. I doubt I'll return.

The food was excellent and attractively plated. Cocktails were creative and delicious. While we chose to eat in the quieter downstairs, I would have preferred to not have seen the kitchen washing dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Service was very good, but the food was slightly underwhelming. The green beans were cold, the potatoes were raw. I've been and the past and the food was quite good so maybe it was just a off night .

I love the feel of this restaurant, we have eaten in the 18th Amendment Lounge a couple times now. We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted a nice dinner.1. Food, both times we have been there and tried to order steaks they have been out both times. We get offered a different cut. Steak is cooked to perfection. Little salty but good. It took an hour from the time we sat down until we got our food. There was 1 other table with 2 people. We ordered our steaks Medium Rare, (3-4 min per side for max 8 minutes). Asparagus was barely cooked, it was good but needed a little bit longer on the grill. We got the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, 3 shrimp.. for 2 people. For the cost of the 3 shrimp, I could've bought a pound of shrimp. They were a good size and the cocktail sauce was delicious, but recommend adding at least 1 more shrimp.Recommend offering a basket of bread or something to help patrons pass the time. (Without extra charges).2. Service, servers and bartender were very friendly, and attentive.3. Atmosphere is what brought us back but $145 for 2 dinners, shrimp cocktail and 2 adult beverages is a little steep. I understand inflation but don't know that we will be back.

We were seated very quickly as a party of 3. There were hardly any other patrons other than two other parties of 2. I ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer which came out about 15 minutes after ordering (we ordered the appetizer and main meals at the same time) and they were delicious! However, it took a little over an hour to get the rest of our food. Two of us ordered steaks and one of us ordered the shrimp and grits. After waiting for about 45 minutes, we asked our waitress about how long our food would be. She said they were short a chef so the food was taking longer than normal. Our steaks were slightly over cooked (which isn't a big deal to me), the shrimp were over cooked, and the grits were grainy. It seemed to take forever to get our checks and boxes, as well. This is not the first time I have been here and this is not the first time it has taken this long for food. I don't think I will be offering up this restaurant as a choice for an outing anymore.
