I know it does not look much one the outside but OMG!!! The food and service was on point!! The crab legs and crawfish were cooked to perfection and was absolutely amazing!! Umami was a result of a google search for my husband and I and we will be going back and bringing people with us!!!

Okay, I knew about this place when it opens and I live in Goldsboro but the guy I'm dating lives in Durham so I'm always there. It was so pleasant to know that we have a seafood place in Goldsboro that was not only greatly priced but the crabs were stuffed with me, potatoes, eggs. The shrimp were ridiculously fat. I didn't like the the shrimp with the head on it, but I did it because I think the price to cut the head off was too much. So ultimately the shrimp itself almost went to waste because of the head and the bile and everything like that still in it. But the food the amount they give you for the price, the quality of the food, the taste of the seasoning. It was great. I highly recommend but if they store Price Gage and like everybody else don't go
Give this restaurant a try for your next boil bag. I heard mixed reviews on this place and my craving for a shrimp boil led me to try it out myself. I ordered the shrimp boil big bang style, medium, and I actually liked it. The mixture of seasonings came together well and 1lb of shrimp is plenty. Next time I will add sausages to my bag, it will blend nicely with the Big Bang flavor. I had a couple of red potatoes which were good however I think they should advertise the corn as 1 instead of 2. The corn is cut in half and is obviously one cob. But overall I enjoyed the taste of this shrimp boil and I think this restaurant is worth a try. *My picture does the food no justice, all the juices and flavor are at the bottom of the bag and there’s also another potato that’s not pictured.

I don’t know if they’ve switched cooks but the food wasn’t up to par this time!! The food use to be way better and much tastier!! They messed up on my boyfriend’s order so we didn’t even get to eat together!! Wings were horrible with no seasoning and all the sauces were watery(even for the wings)!! It was very cold and I couldn’t even enjoy myself!! I won’t be going back anytime soon!! $80 gone down the drain for mediocre seafood!!

New to the area, and my wife was craving fried fish. This place happened to be really close to our new apartment, and so we gave it a shot. Do not order any of their fried offerings. It was the worst fried seafood that we've ever had. The whiting was overcooked and had a leathery texture. The batter was burnt, and the meat was chewy. The honey garlic wings tasted old, smelled putrid, and had very little sauce on them. All 10 wings were bruised. The shrimp and fries were the only things edible, but they were of the previously breaded then frozen variety. In fact, everything was previously frozen. Nothing was fresh. Maybe the wings when they first got 'em, but by the time they were served to us, they were garbage. The fish, shrimp, and fries were all un-seasoned. It all tasted like it had been fried in old grease.I can't speak on the boils, and sadly, I'll never be able to. I'm never going back. It's a crime for a restaurant to be able to charge people for this. I wouldn't feed what we received to a dog. It's even more frustrating because we just drove back from Fayetteville, and we were really hungry. Now my stomach is in ruins. Please be careful when patronizing this place. Ask to see your takeout before they close the trays and bag them.

I heard about this place from a coworker, my wife and I love sea food boils. Went on a Saturday around 4 pm, no wait was greeted and seated right away drinks were brought while we looked over the menu. Order and 10 mins our food came out hot and delicious. We had been ordering from umami’s/boiling crab house for the past 3 years and it used to be my favorite crab boil spot, but they have changed the way they seasoned over the past year and it is no longer as good. It seemed that they used more garlic/ butter/ and real ingredients and now they used only powdered seasonings. The last time we went three of us got sick and had diarrhea and threw up throughout the not. We will most likely not be returning.
