This was a most pleasant experience. We were in town visiting friends and they chose this restaurant. Amie was our server and she did a stupendous job, she is a real pro. The food was absolute perfection! The atmosphere is very home-like and soothing and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and would go back again and again.

The food, drink and atmosphere where amazing! We had a table of 5 and we all agreed that this was one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten. We started with an appetizer of fried calamari and another one of scallops. The calamari was so good we ordered another one. We then had an amazing ahi tuna meal and filets. We topped off the meal with key lime and a peanut butter chocolate dessert. All was truly amazing! Our waiter Damien was equally great!

This was one of the best dining experiences we have had on several years. From the calamari to the tuna to the beef tenderloin to the key lime pie….it was all fantastic. We had the scallops appetizer as well as the peanut butter pie. Our server - Damian - was the absolute best. We WISH Tallahassee had a restaurant 1/2 this good!

We went recently because the menu on their website had so many delicious-sounding items. For the first time ever we were seated in "Siberia", 1618's back room. Cold, literally and figuratively, noisy, and just not very comfortable compared to their front room. Our next disappointment was with their "New" menu. What was new was three or four fewer apps and three or four fewer entrees to chose from. All the items we were looking forward to having were gone. Our food was okay but the "Wow" was missing. We are giving four stars instead of three and hope this was an off night. We'll return and hope to see the reappearance of the "Old" menu, the one that has made 1618 West one of Greensboro's best for many years.

Very attentive staff made an easy night with suggestions and help. Great complete meal. A no rush evening.

The most amazing food and service in Greensboro. 5 stars every time. And the cocktails are fantastic as well!

Who knew a converted fire station could have such remarkable food. Do not let the unassuming outside of this superb restaurant fool you. The service, food, ambience, wine list, and experience are all universe-class. Yes, in Greensboro! And see if you can get Will as a waiter -- he did more than provide service -- he created a fun and entertaining dining experience for my friends and I that made me write about this to all my friends. And the food -- I do not take pictures of my food, but the Ahi tuna dish was so gorgeous and so well prepared, the entire family got a picture. Like the Ahi, it was a very rare treat for them. Don't pass this place up -- we always look for the hidden gems of the foodie scene and 1618 is the Koh-i-Noor of Greensboro. Try it -- you will be dazzled.

Amazing food. Both the taste and quality were top drawer. We hope to go again when we visit Greensboro.

I have heard nothing but great reviews about this place so I was eager to try it. I am a great lover of seafood and was really looking forward to it. I ordered the snapper. The fish was very tasty but they had so many other flavors on the plate they seemed to all compete with each other. Don’t get me wrong each item would be amazing on a tapas menu but not altogether trying to complement the fish. They all over powered the fish.

Nice atmosphere (odd odor though). Good service and food. Priced as well expected - it’s not cheap. Solid for higher end seafood.

We had a group of 8 here the other night and had such a great experience. Our server Damien was one of the best I’ve ever had. Witty, funny and informative. We shared oysters and scallops to start which were really good. Most of the table had the seared tuna, which I tasted as well. Very good. I had a shrimp dish that was awfully good as well. A perfect bottle of wine was a big hit too. Can’t wait to come back next year when we are in town.

Service was great and food is outstanding. It was great to have food brought out as it was finished- so all had hot food. Dessert was another plus.

An Excellent Dining Experience The dining rooms are open and airy. The seafood was extremely tasty with generous portions. Great service. Nice wine list and good cocktails ? Expensive but worth it. I will be back when next in the area

We picked this restaurant by chance while visiting the Greensboro area. It was a winner! My spouse said hers was the best meal she had ever eaten! We started with the calamari appetizer. Very nicely done with a tasty wasabi sauce that was not overly hot. Spouse had the seafood trio. Each item was extremely good according to her. I had the sesame encrusted tuna. Very nice with perfectly cooked, high quality tuna. Total bill with a drink each but no dessert was $134 including tip. Parking was easy and free. Will come again next time we are in the area.

Been to this place several times and the food is always great. Tonight the food was great and the server saved the night (Damenin). Two hours for dinner and no appetizer until an hour into the meal. Then a salad came and the entrees staggered out. Wait a few weeks or months before going. If they are short handed they should scale back tables and reservations.
