I am a Greensboro fan with so many good local eateries to choose from. Freemason Grub & Pub is no exception. The signage is challenging in the dark, but the exterior green lights likely leftover from St. Patty's helped identify them. It's an adorable two story brick with wonderful character. Parking is off street or in their own small lot in the rear.My wife and I cut our arrival a bit close after 830 with a weekday closure of 9. The interior offers a cozy vibe with wood floors, exposed brick and dimly lit dining room . The bourbon bar is the centerpiece. With closing in 20 minutes the restaurant was mostly empty. Our friendly waitress Bella was on top of drink orders. I ordered an Old Fashioned utilizing Makers bourbon with a banana flavor profile. It proved to be outstanding @ $14. Bella encouraged us to try their bbq which they are known for, we ended up both getting the Cherrywood Brisket. My wife with side of Cesar and me side of cup of chili for $1 up charge. The recommendations really made the difference.Bella brought the food out within 15 minutes. Temperatures were correct. The brisket was magnificent. Tender with fat to meat ratio. The house sauce was perfect with a slight kick. The cup of chili was yum with Navy Bean and frito corn chips on top that was unusual. My wife agreed with my assessment on the brisket and her salad was fresh. We finished out splitting a butterfinger pie which was good size for the share. It proved to be mighty tasty and not a crumb was left. Our bill was brought to us in a timely fashion to close out. Since we were out of town Bella suggested a few other local places. I would recommend Freemason and who knows may return this week.Parking: Parking in rear

Food was good. Service good. A little too spicy on the sandwich. I will ask for no buffalo next time

Loved it! Food was great, prepared with originality and tastiness! Loved the pub feel as well. Small but welcoming. I used to live in Milwaukee where there was a family-owned, family focused local bar on virtually every corner. Freeman's gives a similar vibe. So awesome! Keep it up, crew!

We had lunch here today and it was excellent! We had onion rings with fry sauce. We also had the Cuban and the hot honey chicken which was seasonal I believe. Everything was delicious and service was amazing! We will be

What a superb little place! Good beer selection, and surprising menu. I had the Carolina Cuban with Waffle Fries and it was a home run. Check this little place out! Very limited seating so just beware! The team that works there is spot on and service was awesome.

Great local spot! The brisket is exceptional, the staff are attentive and friendly, and they have a lot of vegan and allergy-considerate options. Drinks are bangin' too.

The food was fantastic! Wish I lived closer - I'd go here a lot! Wish I had gotten the jalapeno and cumin fries, but the rosemary and garlic fries were also good. And the brisket sandwich was worth the hype! No pictures because I ate it too fast.

This is my second review in the last few months as I frequent this gem of Greensboro quite often. During my last visit, I was not quite satisfied with my meal. It was good, but not great. But the staff at Freeman pub redeemed themselves today with the new special hot honey chicken sandwich. The chicken was crisp, but juicy and drizzled with tons of honey and the heat was just right. I paired this wonderful sandwich with one of my favorite sides the street corn which never disappoints. I went back-and-forth about the onion rings, but decided to stick with an old favorite. Another great addition to the meal was one of their special cocktails, the February drink (februberry)which features Tito's, sour mix, and blueberries. I will say their spirits always carry a kick, especially for those who are not big alcohol drinkers. I sat at the bar today and service was fast.

The best buffalo chicken sandwich I've eaten. Ever. The buffalo sauce has an obvious and sexy homemade flavor (you can see the spices in there). The chicken is super crispy, and everything is settled between fresh and flaky French bread. YUM! And those wings are smoked (albeit a little puny, and they only give you 7 per order) and delicious! Double YUM! Tasty street corn on the side. Service by the sweet bartender was top-notch. The place is tiny, so I advise going during the non-peak hours to guarantee you get a seat quickly. It was TOO COLD in there! I had to eat with my coat on.

It's been seven years since my last review of Freeman's and the place has only gotten better. The space that's been a grocery store and iconic acoustic instrument repair shop, is a warm, welcoming place. Inside is dominated by a long bar with seating though table seating is limited to approximately six tables. They do have seating outside as well. What impresses me the most is the friendliness and fantastic food. The staff makes you feel right at home and a welcomed guests. Freeman's has the feeling of a neighborhood bar/diner, which it is. The other patrons are welcoming as well. Their food is not your typical pub fare. While the menu items may seem like a regular pub menu, they aren't! Freeman's puts their own unique signature on everything they prepare. This is truly some the best food in town! I do not like Brussels sprouts but I love the light, delicate offerings here. I had the brisket sandwich and it was fantastic. Everyone in our small party absolutely loved their dinner. A very well deserved Five Stars!
